Genuinely amazing performance in such a small package and at this price point
I'm absolutely blown away by this Mini PC. First off, performance - Day to day office use, perfect. Youtube streaming, perfect. I don't play games often on my PC, but, I downloaded Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 from steam and was pleasantly surprised it played entirely smoothly which I was not expecting at all. The machine is very quiet, the fan being the only indication it is even on. Behind my monitor, it is almost silent. In terms of connectivity, it is powered by a UK Transformer/plug that has a USB C Input, has HDMI and display port, plenty of USB and USB C options too. I am running wireless but it has WiFi and Bluetooth built in too. Audio I have synced by bluetooth but it also has a 3.5mm connection on the face of it. I've been a fan of smaller form factor computers for a while and wanted one that I could safely mount to the back of my monitor. I am so pleased with how this has turned out. For context, it is held up, completely solidly, with one velcro 'command strip'. I decided to attach the mount provided and added the command strip to it, giving it a bit of an air gap to the screen itself as well as the ability to remove it easily if I needed to. Absolutely would buy again! one of the best value purchases I have made recently.

Happy with it
I bought this GMKtec Ryzen 5 Mini PC (3500U) to use with my projector in my garden garage office and gym. I already own another mini PC from the same manufacturer but this one is definitely a step up. It was also on a around Black Friday discount, which was even better deal. Performance is noticeably better than my older model that I use with my TV. This one has 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD and the Ryzen 5 3500U. It has WiFi 5 but i have direct ethernet connection plugged in. Pro tip: When setting it up for the first time, don’t connect to the internet straight away. Log in first, run a full Windows Defender scan and only then connect it to the internet. It’s a simple step but a good precaution with any new Windows device. Overall, a solid mini PC with great value and performance. Perfect for compact setups like mine for under £200 budget.

Another solid mini PC form GMKTec
This review focuses on the G10 model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Testing was conducted with the Windows profile set to 'maximum performance' and the power limit set to 15W in the BIOS. Performance: When I first used the G10, my initial impressions were underwhelming. Running apps and streaming videos (since I plan to use it as an HTPC) felt a bit sluggish. However, after doing some research, I discovered that other users had improved performance by adjusting the power settings to 15W in the BIOS. After making some tweaks, the performance significantly improved, but the trade-off was higher CPU temperatures. Unlike GMKtec’s G3 Plus (which runs virtually silent) the fan noise in this setting is noticeably unpleasant. To fix this, I switched to the ‘AMD balanced’ profile, which strikes a great balance between power and cooling. It provides enough performance to avoid lag while reducing the fan noise, making it much more enjoyable to use. In this configuration, basic tasks like word processing, browsing, and video playback run flawlessly. Construction: Another potential downside is the plastic housing. While a metal build would be ideal, the plastic construction is serviceable and, frankly, is what you'd expect at this price point. Portability/Port Selection While the G10 isn’t quite as compact as GMKtec’s G5, it offers a much more diverse selection of ports. Many mini-PCs of this size skip USB-C, so it’s a nice bonus to see it included here along with three other USB ports. There's also a fifth USB port dedicated specifically to charging, which adds extra convenience when you're on the move. Upgradability: Given its small form factor, I was impressed to find that the G10 offers two unsoldered RAM slots and two NVMe storage slots. Additionally, the Wi-Fi card is upgradable, which is a nice touch for future-proofing. Conclusion: For its price, the G10 is a solid machine with great portability and upgradability. Its only real flaw is the thermal performance at higher settings. If you’re particularly sensitive to fan noise, the G5 Plus might be a better choice. However, with some tweaking to the settings, you can reduce the fan noise to an acceptable level.

Outstanding Value
I have had this little box now for nearly a month, and I can say it has totally exceeded my expectations. For less than £200, it is much faster than my old set up, which was getting on a bit. Comes pre-installed with win11 pro, which in itself to buy, is over £100. For web, emails and office work it is a great little computer and others great bang for your buck. I have been trying different flavours of Linux on it, booting from a usb and pressing F7 to get to the boot menu. I have had no problems with Ubuntu, Mint and others. All of which found the necessary drivers. I hope this review helps

Using as Ubuntu Plex server
Am using this as an Ubuntu Plex server and VPN gateway for my CGNAT'ed home network; struggles if there's any transcoding activity, otherwise, it does exactly what it needs to

Don't waste your time.
Looks pretty and compact, but functionality wise it is useless. super slow loading everything, won't even load settings menus properly or at all in some cases. Tried everything I could think of to speed it up, but to no avail. I would steer clear of this one.

Recomendable.

This thing is tiny. Really. It feels like a toy, like it shouldn't be able to do what it does. Personally, I am using it to run Home assistant OS. That is all it does, it does it well, and without fuss. The cons would be the lack of any USB C ports, oh and too few USB ports, but that said, I managed to make things work with a usb hub. It is now in my basement, doing its job, with no fuss. I like it.

😆 Aucun regret !
