Brook Super Converter for PS3 PS4 to NEO GEO Adapter use Arcade Stick/PS3 PS4 Wireless Controller on SNK USB to DB15 Magic Stick

I wanted to use my modded Mayflash F500s with a consolized MVS, so I bought two of these converters. Out of the box the controllers were recognized. Buttons and stick are super responsive and haven't had any issues with input lag or missed inputs.My only complaint was resolved after downloading and installing the latest firmware from Brook's site. The default button layouts are not exactly what I wanted -- though one of the stock ones is a KOF-friendly layout. Initially, when I'd remap the buttons, the mappings would be forgotten when I shut the system off (or sometimes, during game play). After the firmware update, my preferred layout seems to have been kept by the adapters.Speaking of button remapping, the user guide has it backward... but the guide on Brook's website is correct with one notable omission (see below):STEP01. Press START button & PS button to enter setting mode.STEP02. Press the button which you want to assign.STEP03. Hold SELECT button & press the source buttons which you want to Remap.STEP04. Press START button to save the setting.[STEP04b.] Repeat the above for additional buttons.STEP05. Press PS button to save your settings.

They don’t make Neo Geo controllers anymore so your stuck getting something used and beat up. I recommend this, it’s compatible with the PS3/4 controllers. The button preset I don’t like but was able to firmware and change the button layout.

Flat out, it works.I used it with a consolized MVS mainboard and it works perfectly. Button configs were easy to change out with button combinations making either King of Fighters games or Puzzle Bobble great to play. Works fine as well using a NeoSD flash cart.However, using it with a Neo Geo CD with an SD Loader installed causes some issues. With King of Fighters, it would load all the way to the character/team selection, then reset to the loader. Most games would reset midway through a level. However, playing a regular CD game works fine. The main reason for the purchase of this converter was to use with my SD Loader installed Neo Geo CD.Though it works fine for other Neo Geo consoles, it did not work great with what I wanted to use it for. Not sure if there's an update for the converter, but I've already acquired a different solution.
