Orthomen Hinged ROM Elbow Brace, Adjustable Post OP Elbow Brace Stabilizer Splint Arm Injury Recovery Support After Surgery, Mam & Women(Right) : desertcart.co.uk: Health & Personal Care Review: The brace gives me freedom to pick up light items while keeping my radius and ulna in place while my broken elbow heals Review: I gave this brace three stars because the mechanism that locks the brace into different positions for range of motion did not work properly. During the time when it would lock in position it worked. But often it would unlatch and the brace would loose the set position. At a certain point I stopped using the brace because it became frustrating trying to keep it in the correct position.

The brace works as advertised. Adjustable to length and arm size with locking into a number of positions. And here is where it fails. The locking mechanic of the hinge will unlock and the arm will start to move beyond yhe locked position. In my opinion a mega fail, as the idea is to secure and protect an injury. In my case a distal bicep tendon surgery. Quite disappointing honestly as safety and security cannot be achieved. Honestly I cannot rate it higher than 1 star as the expectations and standard for a medical device is very high.

This was delivered to be just a few hours ago and the lock pin to hold my arm at 90 degrees has come loose and failed twice. From the one I was at the Doctor's office, this one isn't necessarily any worse, but the lock pin being made of plastic instead of aluminum or steel allows it to flex and give way pretty easily. I think it may hold better at lower angles, but I'm stuck at 90 degrees for another week and will have to be very careful with this. For what it's worth, this isn't a bad value for the money compared to the one's doctors charge $500 for. Those really aren't any better and have their own caveats to use. I just wish I could spend $20 or $30 more and get one with a stronger lock vs everyone trying to market one of these below a hundred bucks or over 500 bucks. The middle ground would be a good place to be. I would not trust this to hold my arm while I sleep, and don't want to have to repeat my surgery, so if you you're only going to have one option during your recovery, this is not the best option. At a minimum save your original ace-bandage style with splint for sleeping and use this thing for cautious around the house extension of your elbow.

I had previously posted about receiving a used non working brace. The box had a sticker that said “item is to go to unsellable”. I tried to update the previous post, but for some reason it wouldn’t let me…so I’m updating with a new post. I was sent a “new” brace this time that actually works. I wasn’t able to get in touch with the seller, but Amazon replaced the item through their fulfillment center. Now that I have a functioning brace, it so far is worth the money and the hassle I went through. I’m giving 4 stars due to being sent a “used” item previously.
