Surfboard Rack Kit

Extremely high quality and well made. Impressed with the quality and ease of installation, the company obviously did their homework. Although the vendor indicated it may not work with disk brake bikes, it fit on my Haibike (I had to spread the forks of the rack slightly to accommodate. Also because of the Haibikes large seat post diameter I had to buy a separate seat post clamp to mount the support bar but these are inexpensive). Much prefer this type where the board is behind you and doesn't take up so much width as with the side carriers; easier to stay within the bike lane and to get on and off the bike.

Got this for my 11 year old so he can carry his board safely to the beach. I don't like the side racks as I have my kids bike on the sidewalks and there are all sorts of obstacles creating narrow passageways so this is the absolute perfect solution. Really easy to use and just tested it out that my son can put the board on and off the rack on his own. LOVE IT!! (I had to ask Dr. LaFontaine for help installing but it was really super easy. I just had some trouble understanding the what I was seeing on the paper manual and the video didn't work for me. Dr. LaFontaine was super helpful and didn't make me feel like an idiot for needing help.

Once you get this together, it feels sturdy and does the job perfectly. My 4 star rating was due only to the instructions, which seemed like they were imaged and written on a smartphone. I am very mechanically inclined, but this took me the youtube video to properly understand installation on a on a multi-speed-bike wheel. I suggest watching the youtube video (first) [...]. As for board lengths, it works perfectly on my 5'8" and 8'2". Winds are not a factor, but on very breezy days the 8'2" on a gust can nudge me.That said, the construction feels great and even for my 8'2' trifin, this works perfectly and feels so well balanced. A great summer ahead.UPDATE: So far I have used this set up over a dozen times, sometimes in some decent breezes. This works like a charm and with a thin profile, bike racks are not an issue. I'm a fan.

Easy to install and use, well worth the price.

A great product to begin with...amazingly easy to install...simple and convenient to use. HUGE kudos to the Bike Balance company, however...we seemed to be missing a couple of small items, and I called them directly...the answered the phone very late in the day, and had replacement parts in the mail the following day...thanks for the wonderful service, Bike Balance!

Nicely made good value

Much easier then racks that go on the side for tight side walks. You do feel a little sway if you stand up and ride (I have it on a beach cruiser). It is fairly easy to set up.
