SecuCaptain Emergency Fire Blanket for Home and Kitchen - 40"x40" Prepared Flame Suppression Fiberglass Fire Blankets for House Camping Car Office Warehouse Emergency Survival Safety

I personally have one of these and have also gifted them to several other people. It's one of those items that I feel like should be in every home in case of emergency. I've never had to use it so far and hope that I never do, but it's hanging on the inside of one of the kitchen cabinets near the stove, just in case. Because I've never actually tested it in a real fire, I only gave it 4 stars. I didn't feel like I could give the full 5 stars without really using it first, but it's exactly as pictured and described in the listing.

Well, I had a small fire in my kitchen today when I accidentally turned on the wrong kitchen burner and a nearby bag of popcorn caught fire. Flames were about 7 inches high before I realized it, and I quickly threw this fire blanket over it. The blanket reduced the flames and gave me time to grab some Kosher salt, which I used to quickly put out what was still smoldering under the blanket. The blanket did not burn (just got stained from the smoke) and made what could have escalated quickly into a manageable situation. I just ordered some more!

Thankfully I haven’t had to use one yet but I am prepared in case. Bought one for all my kids as well. Seems to be of good quality. If I ever have to use it, I will come back and let you know how it worked!

I have mine in the kitchen and hope I never need it but having it there brings peace of mind.

This seems to be like other fire blankets at a better price point. Fortunately, I've not had to use it but it's reassuring to know I have it close by just in case. I'm glad I purchased it.
