Book of Abramelin: A New Translation Hardcover – 31 July 2015

I remember the feeling when i first held and read this book...I haven't felt this way about a book ever since..The information is top notch & i hope that some day i'll be able to complete the Abramelin Ritual..I must have a conversation with my Holy Guardian Angel...!

Very well edited book, with good notes and introduction. The external history of the text and its many editions till this one is very interesting. My opinion on the main contents are:-Book One: The best part by far, the tale of the travels of Abraham of Worms in his search for actual magic, how he found it in Abramelin and how it helped him. A great film could be made about this. Leave you wondering how many historical events could have been influenced by conjured demons.-Book Two: The new 4th part. Quite a long list of spells based on copying verses from the Scripture into things. Very superstitious and contradictory with all that was described in Book One, as well as the approach of the main ritual.-Book Three: Description of the long preparations of the ritual to invoque the Holy Guardian Angel and how to perform the ritual. It is all based on praying to God and be pure under His eyes, in a Jewish practice. There is no theological explanation on when or why God would allow us to have any angel to do our will, so I'd trust no angel no matter how beautiful appears. If you don't believe in God, there is no point on trying this piety-based ritual; and if you believe, there is no point on trying this instead of working on knowing and doing God's Will.-Book Four: A list of do's and don'ts for the ritual, lists of demons and the famous squares. Interesting part, but sadly not a solid and referenced lore.

Items as described, arrived well packed and on time.

I believe this is one of the few old grimoires that are very well and accurately translated.Even the method is, of course, very outdated (this is a 14th century grimoire) but I believe it will work very well.I guess you just have to try to be sure.And this is NOT for advanced magicians. This is actually a path to take in the beginning with lots of information and warnings and ways to do, be and correct mistakes.This is a must!
