The brown look more like a desert red, are they more light brown than pictured?

Yes, they are light brown and not red at all.

Where are these made?

Not labeled on the packaging. Weird.

Are these laces waxed? I don't want waxed laces. I'm looking for a soft lace for dress shoes (round lace instead of flat) but most are waxed.

These are round, but I don't think they are waxed. They come untied quite a bit even after I've made sure to pull the knot tightly. They are not a soft texture, just sturdy and of good quality.

2-hole shoe lace size?

My shoes had four holes and I purchased the 36 inch version.

Strong and good looking

I went through a few dress shoelaces until I encountered these. They are thicker than most and very strong. They look good on a dress shoe.

Item looks like it came from the clearance bin at the dollar store

Item is nothing like the picture. Very thin laces in cheap packaging. They are not suitable for my dress shoes where the quality laces are a bit long. I bought these laces thinking they were a comparable product, but shorter. These are not. They are ultra thin cheap junk.
