Love Buddha Board! I love the concept of painting and then letting it go to make another. It is easy to use, just add water. I like that the water sits in the stand, so no spills. I gave one to my grandchildren, ages 15 11 and 5. They all use it and love it. Sometimes they add another brush and paint together! I want to get one for myself! It seems like a great meditative experience!

This is sort of one of my favorite objects now. I've enjoyed sumi-e painting since adolescence and studied it for a bit, but fell out of practice. Now I can make at least one reasonably good image every day, whenever I feel like it, and not waste any paper (which can be hard to get). Although water is not quite as versatile or easy to work with as ink (or at least I'm far less used to it), the images I can make are still quite beautiful and this should be easy and enjoyable for both the beginner and even for a sumi-e practitioner who wants a "sketch pad" to scratch out ideas on and play. Sumi-e painting traditionally has spiritual and ritual components, but it's nice to be able to enjoy the techniques just for fun and playfulness (there is spiritual value there as well). In terms of value added to my life, it's worth twice what I paid for it. It's also very light and a good size that's neither too obtrusive nor too small to be a very good canvas, and the design is attractive even just as a centerpiece on a table. This is absolutely worth the buy.

I got this for my elderly mother who has Alzheimers. She seemed to really enjoy the Buddha Board. It is the right size to leave set up all the time on her table and make no mess at all. It is a nice creative outlet for her.

I bought this Buddha Board for my granddaughters' birthday. She was very excited and immediately opened it and began using it. It was easy to use. She opened the package and it was ready for her to draw on and easily erasable for her to redraw a new picture over and over again. It is inserted in an included stand for tabletop use and it is not oversized, making it easy to draw similar to an artist's easel. It was nicely packaged and made of good quality materials. I felt the item was priced very good for the value.

I purchased this for my family. My husband, our three teenage daughters, and my mother think it's lovely. It arrived quickly and thoughtfully packaged. For the most part, it works beautifully. Unfortunately, I have a couple complaints. My main complaint is regarding the quality of the bamboo brush, or lack thereof; it needs improvement. Also, I think it's overpriced ($35). The bamboo brush just wasn't cutting it. For starters, there's a crack in the bamboo. Granted, it's a tiny crack (for now). I'm uncertain whether the bristles are synthetic or natural (likely nylon). They're soft enough, but hold little water. I have similar brushes that work significantly better than the brush included. We've had the best luck with a water pen brush. You know the kind... the barrel is a reservoir of water and you squeeze out desired amount. I highly recommend a water brush if you get this board. Aesthetically speaking, the brush included completes the set. Pragmatically speaking, the brush included doesn't allow long, fluid strokes. It simply doesn't hold enough water. All that excessive stopping and dipping harshes my mellow. For the price I was expecting better quality. Admittedly, it is pretty amazing and I don't regret the purchase. It's really fun and relaxing. It's an awesome gift for all ages. Additionally, after some research I found out this "magic paper" is something you can purchase (even on amazon). Just search for magic paper. It may be an inexpensive, practical alternative.

I placed the buddha board in a common area for everyone in the family to enjoy. To my great surprise, everyone had a go at using it and had heaps of fun with it. In fact, we started having discussions on how to write certain Chinese characters, which is a great way for us to connect with our older parents. My husband also commented on the fact that he love that it just dries up and disappears, so he doesn't care as much about making mistakes, allowing him to freely draw whatever. Big thumbs up from everyone!

My partner is challenged by ADHD at times. I purchased a Buddha Board for Christmas and it turned out to be the perfect gift for him. Regular tap water serves as the paint ( I use distilled water due to high mineral content in my home water) and with a little creativity you can produce some beautiful results. Just dip the brush into the water and paint on the Buddha Board. The best part, I love to watch my creations slowly change as the moisture starts to evaporate, changing my creation into something else and then eventually disappearing all together, so you can start over again and again! Great gift idea, beautiful, simple and affordable. The Buddha Board comes in a simple box that can be used for storage when not in use. Kit come with a brush, a small easel, and the reusable canvas.
