Gaiam Yoga Block - Supportive

I purchased this yoga block for my wife and she now has two of them, I have observed their usage a few times, so I can speak from a speculative and unbiased opinion. First off, I must say that the quality of the block is second to none. It has six sides as most blocks do and the corners are beveled adding comfort to griping and holding the block when picking it up and putting it away. Most rectangular blocks have sharp or hard corners making it difficult to pick up from the bottom. Being that this weighs only 1.5 U.S pounds, I must say I don't mind picking up two of them to put them away either. The color, Apple Green as is the case with the one I purchased maybe beguiled me at first as I thought it would have been so green it was edible and produced from apple compost. It is not edible, however, it is made from foam which would also serve a function as a life preserver in most fluids. That is until the human race fills the ocean with plastic and foam, at that point one would need to seek a lower density flotation device than this block to achieve sustained buoyancy. Overall I give it 5 stars because a block with a yoga sounding name, that is an acronym for other some other words that also sound of interest to those who enjoy yoga, and it is a block of foam, quite difficult to foul up that product and it didn't require much packaging. Although it would be amusing to order a block and get a leg roller instead, I ordered a block, received a block, and the block does stand on all 6 sides, which does show it has a predictable center of gravity and doesn't roll or float away.

Gaiam does it again! They create such good products; I have two mats from Gaiam, and when I started incorporating blocks into my practice at the studio, I looked for blocks that I could use at home as well. I shopped around (as most people do), and still decided to go with these because of their excellent design and build. They're the right size for anyone to use, they're very sturdy, and the green color is joyful to me. I highly suggest, if you're looking to start a yoga practice, or your needs have changed, that you get the blocks by Gaiam. I shop around, but I always come back to them because they make the best stuff, and these blocks are no exception.

These blocks are pretty good. I like the soft texture, and beveled edges. They are a little less firm than the blocks I'm used to at a yoga studio. Due to the material they're also pretty light so may be just a little wobbly. However, the dimensions are right and they definitely serve my purposes. The color is also very nice. For the price they're a great deal.

I'm a beginner, and these were required for a course. They worked perfectly. Solid, sturdy, soft enough without hurting feet but not flimsy so that you fall off. They were roughly 4inch wide, which is just right. Not giant 6 inch ones, and not tiny 3 inch ones. They get good use. The color is pretty, but the surface gets marked up easily as most do.

I am happy with this purchase. This yoga block is similar to ones I have used at yoga studios. It is sturdy enough to support my friend who weighs 200 pounds. My roommate purchased a cork version for more money and I wasn't really impressed, I didn't find it to be any sturdier- so I didn't see the point in paying more for it. I would recommend this product- price is good, quality is good, gets the job done.

This are just really soft blocks. Get scratches really easy, my guess is they won't last very long. Overpriced. Buy it only if you need them for restorative yoga or to sit on.

bought for my sons yoga class at college. I guess it was recommended. never used.

I expected two blocks would be set in a celling. So when received single block , I was dissapointed at its price for single block and also lack of information of contains.

Perfect size and feel. Great colour. Has really helped me as a new yogi.

Purchased these to practice some arm strengthening poses, only received and tried them out today and am so pleased I added them to my kit, found them ideal for what I bought them for, they can be used horizontally, vertically or flat. I also tried them in a couple of poses I didn't feel properly aligned in (but had persisted with anyway!) i.e. half moon balance and reverse triangle which has resulted in a much better posture being attained and maintained without worrying about over-extending and risking injury, Im pretty confident that with continued use and by sensibly working through the 3 heights they can be used in I will maximise my confidence and ability to execute the moves with proper form. If I'd had the sense to invest in blocks earlier in my practice I'm now thinking I probably would have progressed a lot quicker and more effectively and would strongly recommend them to anybody wishing to practice yoga with patience and mindfulness rather than just diving in as I have a tendency to do and did!!! I think I have made a wise investment.
