Use I fry in it. Had taken it to use as a kadhai with high sides which is necessary for safety while frying and flat surface allows more number to be fried at once. One cup of oil was sufficient to fry 20 small koftas, 8 in one time. First time I washed with hot water after unboxing then towel dry it then put on stove on low heat to dry it completely. Then hovered my hand over it, if I feel medium heat put 4-5 drops of vegetable oil in it. With clean cotton cloth rubbed it all over. Then from different side rubbed to remove all the excess oil, put the gas on medium to high and let it there for 15-20 mins let all the oil smoke. After 7 min reduce heat to medium. And it will turn more black. After it cooled down stored it in dry place. I also made upma it in, sauted veg in it. I'm happy. The only downside is you can't cook Indian onion tomatoes Masala coz it will react with iron and give bad metallic taste. For that I bought sthal stainless kadhai that is Also very good Wash After cooking remove food Used scotch bright BRUSH not steel one to scrub and food sticking to it. Add. HOT water. Don't boil water in it, add hot water and scrub. As it is non stick all food will come off. Rinse. Towel dry Dry on stove Rub few drops of oil not more than that to avoid greasy mess Store In a dry place

Excellent packging and delivery from Amazon. I am using this on a daily basis for quite a few months now for any thing that needs deep frying or stir cooking. I have stopped non-stick vessels. The high sides prevent food from spilling out. Chicken cooked with the lid on came out nice and tender. It is quite heavy and hot and hence needs good gloves to handle. The only thing we have to be careful is 1) to transfer the food out to a ceramic or glass blow, or it will darken and get an iron taste, and 2) it has to be washed up imediatly. If left on the sink, it will rust. 3) after washing, heat it up and lightly oil it - otherwise, it will get rusted. I use coconut oil. I have also bought a similar 5 liter dutch over but from Home Store at RCT Mall.

Though I returned it due to size issue as I was looking for a lil bigger but the size is perfect for 3 people cooking and it’s so so so super quality and so finished I fell in love with it ! I dint wish to return but the size was my issue. Have planned to buy 4quartz once in stock !

this product is worth it. yes it is definitely a lil high in price but its worth the money. This is excellent for cooking for about 4 to 5 people.The flavor is really enhanced due to iron in the cooking. it makes the food more tasty.would definitely recommend this over any aluminum based. a must buy.

While overall the product is fine and well made however It lags when compared to Indian product when it comes to material thickness especially when considering the added cost. While a super heavy material is not ideal , when it comes to dutch oven more thickness for it helps in biriyani not burning when giving dum . This may not be ideal in this case. However this came really well seasoned which lags in Indian brands( its no big deal since cooking in it gets its seasoned anyway )and because of the relatively light material I find myself reaching out for this more often than the other heavier Indian ones . Indian dutch ovens from reputed brands are all much better material thickness wise but are not having the same finish as this one . Nonetheless once well seasoned one can hardly notice those imperfection in Indian brands . Overall Lodge is not a bad oroduct but competitive ( and may be better ?)options are available at half price in India. Rock ,Indus Valley ,70s kitchen are all that I can vouch for .

Baked my first ,fail proof, loaf in my lodge 2 quart casserole. The bread was evenly cooked with a nice crust on top.

Excellent addition to my kitchen - great to cook in and so much safer than non stick and aluminum pans!

This is ideal for a home of 2. Unfortunately it was toi small for us so I had to send it back and order a bigger one. But I am very happy with that brand and can’t wait for the replacement to be delivered
