Premium Bamboo Retainer Case for Aligners (By Mouth Rack)

This retainer case is rock solid! I ordered it because I have been having difficulty finding something that would both keep my retainer safe while not looking like a $2 travel case that you would pickup from our local big box stores. From a craftsmanship perspective, it is impressive. The only non-bamboo piece of this case are the magnets that keep it closed! I have really enjoyed this case and will be getting more as gifts. It looks really nice on the counter, and it’s small enough for my frequent air travel.

At first, I really liked this product. It looked trendy and, being that it was not made out of plastic, it was eco friendly. Before ordering the case, I was concerned about the fact that it’s made out of wood because I had a bamboo toothbrush and it didn’t last long with all the water it went through, but with the relatively good reviews I thought I’d give it a shot...Now that I think back I should’ve just stuck with a plastic retainer case. A little less than a month and my case started to get this white residue. I thought nothing of it. Today, a month later, I went to get my retainers and opened to find what made me want to write this review, white fuzz. Apparently white fuzzy mold grows on bamboo often when it’s exposed to too much moisture. If you rinse your mouth guard/retainer before sticking it in your case, I wouldn’t buy this product unless you dry them very VERY well.

I couldn’t be happier with this case! Extremely high quality and designed very well. The added magnetic seal makes it perfect! Not to mention, nice to look at on my sink. Highly recommend!

The bamboo of this case is very nice in appearance and workmanship. It's a bit larger than my original Invisalign case, but looks so much nicer. I use this for home storage of my Invisalign retainer, but use the original case for travel as it is lighter. No discoloration of the wood thus far, closes well, and the right size for my retainer. Did have to smooth out a few edges on the case as it was a bit rough. But other than that it has worked great for me. As such, I can highly recommend this item.

I really loved this container for my aligners, however I had to replace my first one after 3 days of use due to the wooden hinge breaking. I wanted to love this product I asked Amazon for a replacement, that replacement failed on me in about 4 days the same exact way as the previous one. Beautiful product, poorly constructed hinge.

I was looking for a case to leave on my table that didn't scream ugly retainer case. This case looks really nice and is well made. I like the shape and the hinges on it. It is really easy to clean!

I'm on week 3 of using this, and I only use it at work when I eat breakfast and lunch. The box is already broken; the bamboo near the hinge of the box broke yesterday when I opened it. I've been gentle with this piece, and I'm disappointed that it's failed this spectacularly in such a short amount of time. I'm all about reducing plastic use, but using this box won't cut down on waste if I have to buy a new one.

Not very impressed with this case, the hinge only attaches from one side (pin/barrel hinge) which broke after a few months of use. I travel pretty frequently so it spent a good amount of time in my kit bag, but I never abused it really. Also seemed to pretty quickly grow some black mold/mildew which I would need to scrub out frequently. I live in a dry climate as well so this surprised me. I think the bamboo has a lot of surface area compared to say plastic. All in all, give this case a pass.
