Perfect water pump
Perfect replacement water pump I put in my 03 Yukon Denali. Easy job and didn’t have any problems. Thermostat works great as well. I didn’t use the gaskets it came with as I bought an upgraded fel-pro which are a lot better quality. No leaks yet after 5 months.

Best replacement pump you can get for your GM/Chevy.
There are other water pumps out there that will "fit," but none of them will fit as nice as this one, made to AC Delco's original specs. Once you get past all the typical, unexpected headaches of getting into your engine compartment to replace a part like this, the repair is actually pretty easy. Barring any unforeseen headaches, even an inexperienced DIY'er could probably get it done in a hour or so, not counting any system flushing or other prep you might want to do before the actual installation. The "kit" comes with all the gaskets you need, and you DO NOT need to add any extra adhesives or sealants. That stuff just makes a mess on/around the mating surfaces and your anchor bolts. For example, my replacement project was delayed for HOURS while I struggled to extract the OE anchor bolts from the old pump body and remove from them all the excess sealant the mechanic who installed it had slopped all over the gasket/port connections. The bead of silicone around the edges of the gasket holes gets compressed between the mating surfaces when you cinch down the anchor bolts, and forms a perfect seal. The pump manufacturer supplies two of their own, "knockoff" version of the AC Delco gasket, but I didn't trust 'em. I ordered the AC Delco ones from Amazon. Note that you'll need TWO of these gaskets, NOT one. If you're also replacing the thermostat (always a good idea when you're changing out the water pump), get the AC Delco one, too. It comes with a built-in o-ring that fits neatly into the thermostat housing and also does not require any additional gasket or sealant. So far, this thing is running totally flawless, and I'm HAPPY that I finally yanked out the old, leaky aftermarket junk that was in there before, and replaced it with the water pump that was MADE for my 2001 Suburban. No more having to check my coolant level every other week, and I know this pump will last a very long time before another replacement is required.

Why are there gaskets shown in the pictures?
Haven’t installed this yet, but there are 2 issues right off the bat that are problematic. One is the lack of gaskets, even though there are pictures showing the gaskets lying next to the water pump. So be sure to add the needed gaskets to this. Also, one of the bolt holes was damaged in shipping. Can’t say this was 100% the manufacturers fault, but they could have done a better job with the packaging. Hopefully there will be no other issues with the actual installation.

Caution Truck will over heat with this water pump
I had a 2001 GMC Seirra 1500 5.3 liter z71 my water pump started leaking. I purchased one of these water pumps truck then started to over heat at idle. Replaced everything in the cooling system on the truck including the radiator that was recently replaced but it had to have a plug in it cause I wouldn’t get the proper amount of water circulating so I replaced it and i had the same results truck would over heat at idle. After going through the entire cooling system replacing everything cause it can’t be the water pump that is a brand new one. Naught everything you could possibly replace in the cooling system replaced 3 thermostats also trouble shooting this issue by the way which was making me very aggravated to say the least After replacing everything it was still overheating at idle and it all pointed to a faulty water pump lack of flow I figured. Cause it never did overheat at a higher RPM. I ended up ordering new one just like the first one I’m thinking it’s an Ac Delco that is the parts GM usually uses in their truck, and cars. Im thinking maybe the impeller diameter is wrong with out being able to find out the impeller size I placed an order for a new one just like it, long story short it did the same exact thing maybe even the 2nd one was even worse than the first one. After a ton of cursing it all still pointed to lack of flow at idle. I ended up going to buy another water pump from ORielys and see what happens cause I have purchased water pumps from them before and never had any issues like. I picked one up and I didn’t feel like taking all that crap apart again for the third time I was mad at this point. Very mad I went to ORielys and picked up the water pump they recommended which was a Murray water pump installed it and it worked just fine So I am 3 water pumps deep on my truck and this AC Delco water pump that they say supposed to fit my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 causes it to over heat do not purchase this water pump it doesn’t work on that truck. It won’t be enough flow to keep it cool at idle the impeller diameter has to be wrong. Only thing I could come up with. Dont even waste your money on this pump. Defiantly not for a 2001 GMC Serria 1500 5.3 liter truck.

Excellent quality, fit my truck perfectly. Seals were good quality as well. The first one arrived damaged, but they quickly sent me another and I shipped the damaged one back at no cost. The second one was packaged better.
