It fits! It fits! - Nikon 200-500mm w/ reversed hood & lens foot
Finally, after trying several lower priced, but very nicely design lens cases found on Amazon, the Ape Case fully fits the Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 super telephoto lens. The other brands were too small. They had nice handles, zippers, pouches, etc. But none can carry all the attachments with the Nikon 200-500 lens. I've always had hesitations on Ape Case camera bag designs and still have a few objections with this lens case design. But bottom line is this fits my hard to fit lens at a moderate price. There's 2 other brands that are $20 to $110 more than the Ape Case. But I can stop looking. What I like: + Nikon 200-500mm lens with reversed lens hood and lens collar/foot slides in/out smoothly. (Being nearly square accommodates the lens foot that circular cases can't handle!) + Plenty of padding on the bottom and around the sides. + Wide belt loop. (But it's so wide, to use as carry handle or attach to camera bag/backpack.) + Bright yellow interior lets you see what's inside. + Nicely padded shoulder strap. What can be improved: - Top flap needs the buckle to secure. Pulling on the flap unzips the twin zippers to quickly access the lens. (Hook & loop should be added for extra security.) - Buckle not intuitive. You press down on the face of the buckle, which can be undone if you bang into something. (All conventional buckles squeeze from the sides.) - Need to be pull the top flap forward to gentle pull on the strap joining the twin zippers to close the case. (A conventional flip top with single zipper would be better.) - Top carry handle/strap is too narrow allowing only use with 2-3 fingers. (Should be bit longer and sewn further apart for a better grasp. Hence the belt loop makes a better carry handle.) - Belt loop hook & loop tabs are small and can undo. (Longer tabs would be more secure.) - 2 small pouches can only carry memory cards. (Better to have a pouch for lens filters or cleaning cloth as most other brands.) - Longevity of the zipper pulls, buckle, flap. (Material quality is good though.)

If You Need To Save Space This Case Is For You!
Purchased this case to take my Nikon D500 with 200-500mm(with foot attached) with me when backpacking. There is no wasted space either; the camera/lens combo just fits! The case adds little bulk and lets me get the camera/lens combo into the backpack while providing protection from the packs contents. Perfect for the purpose intended. All you need is the extra large pack! A great little case that offers moderate protect but provides dividends in space savings. Its well constructed but not amazing and has ample attachment points if one needs to get creative.

The ACPROLC18 is a good case for the Canon 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM with hood
I was looking for a case to carry around the Canon 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM with hood when shooting sports so as to avoid having to bring in a large backpack or rolling case into stadiums or high security areas. It was much simpler to sling the cameras around my neck, carry my monopod in one hand, and this Ape Case ACPROLC18 with the lens in it over my shoulder. The case is protective enough for bumping around crowds, in hand-carry luggage, the back of vehicle, or on public transportation. It is not good for check-in luggage, however. The lens case is wide enough to accommodate the 300mm hood and long enough to fit the lens plus the EF 1.4x teleconverter attached. It comes with a shoulder strap to carry over the shoulder and I appreciate the yellow interior which is great for visibility. There are two things about this case which seem like slightly counter-intuitive design decisions: 1. The plastic latch on the front is opened by pushing on the top half of the front of the latch. That pops open the bottom and frees the tongue portion of the latch. It's hard to explain, and actually sometimes I still get it wrong. But it is good from detering people from opening your lens case. For example, when I use this case, no one else can get it open to get at the lens. So, I pretty much do not have to "share" my long lens. 2. The zipper for the case is under the flap. The manufacturer's picture shows the two zippers joined by tether to each other to slide the zippers open from ON TOP of the flap. In practice, that is not always convenient. Often, for more security, I will have the zippers and tether under the flap, making the case a little harder to open. I'm quite used to it by now so it doesn't bother me, but I thought I should mention it. Where this case excels is value for the money. There are other cases out there that have more padding and therefore more bulky, and have latches and zippers that make a little more sense, but they are at lest 2x or 3x the cost of this lens case. I don't store the 300mm in this case, and half the time I transport the big lens in a rolling case anyway, so this case is for special situations where rolling up with so much gear would be a hassle or intimidating. This case does what it promises to do for a very good value.

Looking for a case for that Tamron 150-600mm lens?
This case is nearly perfect for my needs. There are 3 ways I use this case with my Tamron 150-600 lens: 1) Lens only with hood in reversed (stored) position 2) Lens only with hood in normal extended operating position 3) Lens attached to Nikon D800e body but with hood in reversed position This versatility makes it a joy to own and use this case. The case is just wide enough fit the lens hood, lens, and the D800 body nicely, but without excess slop. Product construction and quality is top-notch as you would expect from Ape Case products. I also use the Ape Case ACPRO1800 and 1900 camera back packs and love their stuff. The only peeve I have is that I wished the case had a small pocket around 5" square to store miscellaneous things like batteries etc. As it is, there's 2 TINY pockets only large enough to store a CF memory card in each, which is essentially useless to me as I keep 3 sets of memory cards together in a heavy duty case. However, this complaint isn't severe enough to deduct a full star. Product is still a 5 star item with a single wish.

Needed a case for my Nikon D7500 plus Nikon 200-500mm lens attached. With the hood reversed, this bag is a great fit, with just about 1/2” to spare. It’s really well made, and pretty solid too. No attachment points men’s I can’t carry the tripod, but that’s not really an issue. Fits my 20L Dry Bag perfectly, that means it’s also the perfect bag for a forthcoming Antarctica trip where we’ll be going shore in zodiacs. The other niggle is the plastic clasp doesn’t feel very strong. It’s not broken, so far, not really an issue. Would I recommend? Absolutely I would.

Was looking for a worthy case for my Nikkor 200-500mm for quite some time ,but the quality of products being offered was not something i would trust for my lens, the Lowepro one was bit more expensive than what i wanted. So ordered this item from global store , and it was delivered in 10 days against the estimated delivery time of 25 days! The quality of packing was decent enough. Pros: The quality of the outer material is pretty good, the seams are sturdy, both outer and inner material seem to be waterproof. The lid zips down in L shape covering the opening so that any drops falling will simply roll down and won,t go through the zip. The shoulder strap is nice and sturdy with decent quality buckles. The belt strap(I'm not sure anyone would risk hanging their 2-3 kg lenses to their belts without risking their pants falling off!) is fastened with velcro..which in my opinion would not hold the weight. BIGGEST PRO-My 200-500mm lens fits completely, even when covered in the nikon supplied black cover along with the lens hood kept on top (as shown in the picture) ! Completely satisfied. Cons: Yet to find any.

The case was recommended to me as a perfect fit for the Nikon 200-500mm. It's bigger than I thought. Not only does the lens fit in but you can keep it on a camera body and put the whole kit inside the case. It comes with a good quality neck strap to carry it autonomously (without a cumbersome camera bag). Nikon should ship the 200-500mm lens with something like this instead of the awful lens pouch that serves absolutely no purpose. The Ape Case is a great case at a decent price.
