Great condition, packaged very nicely

This is an iconic Billy Joel album. There is not one weak track. Every song is is a hit and the placement of the songs on the album make the whole better. From "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" to "Miami 2017" the listener can't go wrong.

This is a replacement for my original copy, which had been played so many times that surface noise made it unlistenable. Not so with this new record. The background is dead silent. Interesting recording techniques, as the instruments seem to be right up front, but Billy sounds like he is a good 10 feet behind them, with the exception of one of his masterpieces "New York State of Mind" which is right up front. Playback was on a Linn Sondek with a Tavish Design phone pre-amp, and Audio Research preamp and amps (bi-amped) into Sonus Faber Extremas with a Velodyne Sub. Pretty good sound

Ditto on what I said about 52nd Street. Billy's vinyl kicks butt on his CDs of these classics. Say Goodbye To Hollywood rocks on vinyl. All the CDs I've heard of these great songs, including the remasters, sound weak on bass and lack character. Miami 2017 is a song I never cared for, but have come to like it now that I hear it as it was intended. If you are not familiar with this widely overlooked gem, check it out (in vinyl if you can)and then proceed to his follow-up The Stanger. You can hear a master honing his craft. BJ is among the most prolific songwriters in pop history, and a great singer to boot.

I have nearly all of Billy Joel's albums. Just wanted some of his older "stuff" and this does not disappoint. He's "my man". Most talented lyricist since Cole Porter!

Arrived on time and sounds wonderful. Did not warp or break in transit and sounds great on a record player from 1970.

Every song on this album legit. Billy's got mad skillz on the keys, his pipes are smoking hot, and you can hear it on this record. This came out before Piano Man, so the production value isn't quite as high as some of his later releases, which I love. this is raw Billy Joel at his finest.

Bill Joel is one of the greatest musicians of all time and this album is not one of his better ones but still has some very strong entries. However, it may not be a good starting point for people looking to get into his music or to see what he is all about. For fans, it is a great addition to your collection.The first song, Say Goodbye to Hollywood is the second best on the album and is brilliantly sung and a great song overall. 8/10Second is Summer, Highland falls which many people will not know as it is rarely played on the radio is a very emotional song that you will soon see as a hidden gem of this album. 8/10Third is ‘All you Wanna do is dance’ which is okay but one of the weaker songs on here and probably the most forgettable. Has a sort of reggae feel to it. 4/10New York State of Mind is easily the best song here. Very powerful with tonnes of feeling to the words and an emotional song about Billy’s hometown. 9/10James is the fifth song and while it has some great lyrics and of course is well sung but it doesn’t really try anything different and feels more like a filler then a fleshed out song. 4/10Prelude/Angry Young Man is some of the best piano playing you will ever hear from a non classical artist. A long song with again some very power backing music and excellent lyrics. One of my favourites from this album. 8/10I’ve Loved these Days is a good song and delivered in a way only Billy Joel can but is missing that something that makes it stand out. 7/10Miami 2017 is a fantastic ending with a great story in song form. This song is more about the lyrics and the story then the actual song itself. Good way to end the album. 8/10

Fan de Billy Joel depuis toujours, je ne sais pas pourquoi je suis passé à côté de cet album à l'époque. Je le regrette vivement parce que ce disque est un chef d'oeuvre de composition musicale pour le piano. Je l'écoute en boucle!

アナログレコードは所有しているのですが、プイヤーで再生しても以前の音とは違う気がして、このCDを購入したのですが、結果大満足でした。以前の音が、ＢＪの声が完全に蘇りました。どの曲を聴いてもいい、全て名曲です。特にNEW YORK STATE OF MINDには聴き入ってしまいますね。個人的にはJAMESも好きなんですが…きりがありませんのでこの辺で失礼します。
