Great video doorbell!
Love this doorbell, it was my second attempt at buying one, returned the first. It works really well even with my poor quality wifi. I attached it to Alexa and found the app brilliant and easy to follow for set up. It's perfect for me as I'm disabled and it takes me a while to get to the door. I use the call feature where it calls my mobile, which I find very easy to use and allows me to speak to the caller, very clear sound and great picture quality, can also leave a message that operates when you're not there to tell couriers where to leave your parcels, love it! Battery life shows on the app so you know when to remove for charging!

Buy something else
So long as you live on your won and dont want anyone else to be able to access the video recordings from this doorbell you should be fine. Otherwise, keep shopping. The TAPO software does nkt let two users from different devices have full functionality, meaning only one of you can watch videos back without account sharing. If you account share, when one of you logs in, the other automatically gets logged out.

Disappointed
The battery doesn't last more than a month if I'm lucky. The biggest drawback is that it misses the first 10secs of movement. I changed from Ring but from the frying pan to the fire.

BAD. Difficult to use. Unacceptably Long/Delayed alerts. Software (UI) is difficult to navigate.
Not impressed.CONS (many)- MASSIVELY Delayed alerts. (Turning up response/sensitivity simply means any unrelated object triggers a delayed alert (such as a tree branch and worse on a sunny day due to shadows) and thus increasing detection does not "speedup" the alert time mearly causes more incorrewct alerts, turning it down and you'll be lucky if you get alerted at all.- Unnecessarily ill thought out, obfuscated User Interface/Software that Tapo are fully aware of and have done nothing to fix despite untold complaints.- Audio alerts are impossible to change for custom files from replies to ringtones other than what is part of the awful software or a 15 second recording, barely enough to say hello.- Supplied alerts & greetings are embarrassingly bad.- Notifications severely delayed either movement, person recognition or pet rewcognition alerts you over a minute AFTER the event thus impossible to see who, what triggered the alert defeating the whole purpose of the product as a security option to see who is at the door or moving around outside.- Camera View distance is terrible, over 5 meters and it's just a blur.- Must be wired into an already professionally wired in electric doorbell, no option to simply plug it into somethingsimilar to a mobile phone power supply or even plug it in ! HAS to be run off battery.- Doorbell MUST be paired with a separate chime, thus if you have a large home or 1 chime is downstairs you will NOT hear the doorbell if away from your phone or satellite chime forxcing an additional purchase or carry your phone everywhere, the chime is not portable/dock able, it has to be plugged in, unplugging requires reconnecting.- After only 3 minutes of camera streaming the "network becomes unstable" and you are prompted to select "LQ" ("Low Quality" as if it isn't low already) I have 900Mbps up/down wifi, I can download an entire dvd quality movie in 3 minutes why is this incapable of streaming 720p at a stable rate? a £5 dongle can manage that EASILY.- By the time you navigate the software to see who has rung the doorbell (rather than it having an automatic display option) the person has walked away long before the software opens, regardless of what device you've installed it on.- No Computer based software option, which might (unlikely) at least respond quicker. If it weren't so heavily (& legally) discouraged a dedicated software developer could create a tool that would work in far superior manner to tapo's pathetic offering.- Unable to divert recording to alternate hardware without 3rd party software.Pros- Battery Charges quickly.- Doorbell does make a noise when the button is pressed.- It can record to microssd. (caveat - i've yet to try it, if the rest of the device's features are anything to go by I hold little hope for that working flawlessly.)Side note : of course the subscription model works at advertised. of course it does.Tl;DR Its junk. don't buy.

Seguridad y Confiabilidad

Excellent doorbell with a few minor issues
I installed this by hardwiring it. The setup was easy for both the doorbell and its chime. It is working great. The video image is an ultra wide angle fisheye view. This means that people that are within say 10' are very clear but those that are further away appear quite small and when magnified lack clarity. This is fine for viewing people at your door but if you want to use this doorbell camera as a security camera for your yard it may not be the best choice.I have set up the doorbell for person and package detection and it works excellent for person and package detection. The one issue that I am having is that when I select "Doorbell Mode" in the Night Mode settings, which turns on the doorbell spotlight when the doorbell is pressed so that you can see a colored video of the person at your door, doesn't turn off automatically like it is supposed to when there isn't any motion detected. My D225 leaves doorbell spotlight on which disables the infrared LEDs. This compromises night motion detection. I have to go into the TP-Link app to turn it off by changing the night mode setting to "infrared Mode". I would like this to work without me having to manually turn it off. I am hoping that this is a software issue that can be fixed via an update. The doorbell on my house was installed several feet to the side of my door and there are 5 stairs leading up to the door. In order to get the camera to point in the right direction I had to use both of the included wedges. Unfortunately they weren't designed to be stackable. I got around this by gluing the two wedges together using Testors plastic cement. Overall I would recommend this doorbell camera. I would rate it at 4.5* because of the night mode issue mentioned above but gave it 5* because of its value and easy install.
