Excellent performance but you do need a 5 gallon bucket. I got one from Halfords with no problem. It is made of fairly thick plastic which I think will be robust enough but I have not had it long enough to be sure. The instructions say the connections are 2.5inch but the inside diameter is a little smaller (more like 2.25"). I found it a little difficult to find adapters to connect it to a standard vacuum cleaner in the UK. This is why I have given it 4 stars rather than 5. It connected to my shop vacuum with no problem. Once the connections are sorted out it works very well. The main reason I purchased it is because it is made of plastic and is light and compact enough to easily transport in my car. I didn't know what I needed but the internet told me to get some kind of a dust collector to save the shop vacuum filter from clogging up. I used this along with a 5hp vacuum most of the weekend and I was very happy with the results. The bucket was FULL of saw dust and the vacuum itself was practically empty. This did an amazing job separating the sawdust. Very happy with my purchase.
