Try each included dome size for a secure seal; only the dome is meant to show. A different size usually seats deeper and holds.

Why do they whistle or squeal?

Whistling (feedback) almost always means the dome isn't sealed — reseat it or move up a size. If it continues, lower the volume and check your ears for wax buildup, which reflects sound back out. It's a fit issue, not a defect.
