If you're trying this out for the first time try to keep in mind that this is a scent that is complex and evolves over time. the initial odor at first was almost enough to make me think about returning it, but it quickly changed into something that was utterly awesome. One of the problems with the inexpensive colognes I found is that they only last for about 3 to 4 hours max, I put them on in the morning and by noon they're gone. With Halston Z-14 I put it on at 8:00 in the morning, drove around all day in a car without working air conditioning and could still smell it at 8:00 the next morning. It has kind of a harsh scent at first but it quickly changes into a much more pleasant masculine scent. The Scent evolves over time and after the first 5 to 10 minutes where it's a little harsh it is is very pleasant the for the rest of the day. I bought it because I needed something cheap that I could slather on to keep me from stinking all day long, and what I got was a surprisingly high quality cologne that should be valued at a much higher price due to its outstanding evolved scent and longevity that I think is undervalued due to the initial harsh tones.
