Garmin Varia UT 800 スマートヘッドライト デュアルアウトフロントマウント付き

クラウドファンディングで買って全然使えなかったり、ライト問題に終止符を打つべく購入しました。 まだ長期にわたり使用したわけではないですが、結果大満足。もうライトに散財するのを止めれたかもしれません。 サイコンは代々GARMINを使用しており現在Edge530です。センサーにこのライトを追加してどのように連動させるか等の設定をしたら後はサイコンをスタートさせ走り出すだけです！ サイコンのバックライト用照度センサーを共有しているようで、明るい場所でデイフラッシュ、トンネルに入ると点灯に切り替わるなど、全て自動。片手を離してスイッチを押すとか、ついてるかな？と心配するとかがなくなってストレスフリーです。 日照時間が短くなってくるこれからの秋冬前にこのライトに変えられて良かった。 なんか、リアもGARMINにしたくなってきました。 値段がお高いのがなんともですが、安物数多く買って失敗していくよりは、ファイナルアンサーとして投資価値ありと思います。

UT800の前は同型では最強ライト!?BONTRAGER ION PRO RTを使ってましたが ガーミンと同期しても使える機能が少なく同期する意味が半分程しか無かったけど 流石!ガーミン純正 オートモードなど快適すぎて言う事無し! 安全性が格段に違う 唯一、付属のマウントの取り付け位置が上過ぎてバイクをメンテする際に逆さに置くとガーミン本体が地面当たる コレはガーミン本体（Edge830）付属のマウントで解消しましたがマウントの統一感が無いのは困る。

値段以外満点です。 サイコンと連動して自動で明るさが変わって「おおーww」てなりました。 でも、800ルーメンならもうちょっと安くても良いと思う。

GARMINサイコンと連動してとても便利です。こんなに明るくて、便利なライト もっと早く買えば良かったと思ってます。

夜間乗ることはないので、なんでもいいかとも思っていたのですが、ガーミンのサイクルコンピューター、リアビューレーダーと購入してしまい、それならとフロントライトまで。 何がいいかというとサイコンと接続できること。これに尽きる。 自動モードのデイフラッシュでもいいが、自分はトレイルモードで使用。 トンネルなどの暗いところに入ると、自動でライト・オン。明るいところに出るとオフ。 自分でスイッチをオン・オフしなくていいというストレスフリー。 ハンドルから手を離さなくてもいいので、安全面にも貢献。 バッテリー、明るさともに十分。 唯一、お値段お高めなのが欠点と言えば欠点か。 ただスマートライトという位置付けと安全を買うと考えれば仕方ないのかも。

EdgeExplore2で5.3万円、UT800で2.2万、合計で7.5万円も投資したのに、 昼間トンネルに入ってもライトが点灯しません。 自動モードで、昼間点滅→暗くなると点灯→スピードに合わせてライトの照度連動を期待したのですが、 EdgeExplore2には環境光センサーがついていないので、 UT800に暗くなったことが連動できず昼間だとライトが点滅のままです。 ライト点滅のままのトンネル走行は逆に真っ暗の方がよっぽど安全です。 夜は日没時間になると点灯し、スピードに連動したライト照度になりますが、 あくまでも時間による切り替えで、暗くなったから切り替えてるわけでは無いようです。 また、EdgeExplore2でルート案内中(休憩時間など)に下部の一時停止ボタンと左の電源オフで 一旦ディスプレイを切るとUT800ライトも消灯しますが、 再度EdgeExplore2の電源を入れてライド開始してもUT800が再度点灯してくれる時とそうでない時があり、 どちらかというと再度点灯しないケースの方が多いです。 EdgeExplore2には、他社製リアレーダーのMagene L508も接続していますが、こちらは相性良く動いてくれています。

自動でライトのオンオフや調光をしてくれる、とはいうもののパターンは比較的限定的。 速度によって調整してくれるらしいが夜間走行時に自動設定にしていると、ハイビームで照らしまくるのでバッテリーが直ぐになくなってしまう。 昼間は自動的に点滅モードになるが、これもかなりの光量なせいか数時間走ると残量低下アラートが鳴り始め、いざ夜になると使い物にならなくなる。 正直ロービームでも真っ暗闇で高速巡行やダウンヒルでもない限り充分な光量があるし、デイフラッシュもそこまで眩しくなくて良いと思う。 もう少し自動モードの詳細な調整機能が欲しかったところ。 サイコンからの操作性もイマイチで、結局殆どのシーンにおいても手動でボタン操作した方が楽ということになってしまい、であればキャットアイやオーライト製品の方が何かと優れていると言わざるを得ない。 ちなみにシマノDi2があればブラケットからのリモート操作が可能なので、これは地味に便利だと思う(ただしedgeリモートではライトの設定がない) 個人的には重量増になってもバッテリーを大容量化して欲しかった。せっかくのスマートライトもランタイムの短さのせいで良さが半減してしまっている。 可能性は感じる製品であるものの、同社のリアビューレーダーほど是が非でも取り付けたいと思える程の製品には至っていない。 ちょっと面白いけど実用性イマイチな重くて高いライトという評価が妥当。

I have a Garmin Edge 530 that I ride my bike with. I had been using Night Rider front lights that don't have any bike computer integration capability. They're nice lights but one big drawback is you don't know what kind of battery life you have left. The Garmin Varia front light can be integrated nicely with my Edge into a light network. I also have the Varia rear tail light with radar that alerts me anytime a vehicle approaches from the rear. So the front and back lights form a network. You can change the light function such as intensity, daylight or night time flashing, steady or intermittant and other things. Plus you can see approximately how much battery life you have left. It comes with a mounting kit for round cross section handle bars. The bare light mounts perfectly with my Canyon bike K-Edge handle bar accessory mount which also supports mounting my Edge 530. One trick I learned is when you're done with your ride you need to completely power down your Edge (if that's what you have) as well as the lights. When you go on your next ride, power up the light first. You can press the light power button multiple times to select continuous or flash mode and then when the light is operating then power up your Edge. If you have the rear tail light with radar, power it up first as well before you power up the Edge. When both the front and rear lights are operating, then power up the Edge. I found that if you only put your Edge in sleep mode you have trouble forming the light network. But do it in that order and it works great!

Great light if you are a Garmin user, links to the light network and allows full control from the 1030. The VIRB mount at the bottom can prove to be challenging to install. For some handle bars another bracket is needed to allow for the distance from the back of the light to the handlebar. As it will become permanently attached this means that charging has to be done in situ also it does mean that if you leave your bike locked up outside, you can’t take the light with you.

Approfittando del prezzo scontato ho completato il set Garmin: Edge 1030 e luce posteriore radar. Ovviamente si implementa perfettamente sul ciclo computer Garmin. Si accende e si spegne in automatico quando parte l’allenamento è in base alle luce diurna o se sia già buio. Molto solida e ben fatta, la batteria se in luce flash diurna... dura veramente tanto. Si viene avvistati a un paio di kilometri e in caso di illuminazione notturna con bici da corsa è un fascio luminoso accettabile. Viene fornita di staffa e adattatore rapido di aggancio, comunque meglio usare la staffa fornita dal ciclo computer Edge (più stilista e funzionale) ed utilizzare il solo adattatore. Esistono prodotti meno cari e più luminosi ma non si integrano bel ciclo computer, il che non é un aspetto da sottovalutare, potete gestire tutto tutto dal vostro Edge. Ottimo prodotto, dopo la luce Radar posteriore è l’accessorio più utile per la sicurezza.

It is essentially a light for cycling. I find that the light is very bright. I have not tested how long the battery lasts but no problem throughout my 2 hours rides so far.
