desertcart.com: Victorian Darlings Coloring Book: 9781725547254: Lynn, Hannah: Books Review: Another great book by one of my favorite artists – 2 copies of 25 designs printed one side of page - With each coloring book Hannah Lynn releases, I enjoy her work more and more. One would think she might run out of ideas but each, it seems to me, that her designs get better and more interesting all the time. That’s not to say her earlier books aren’t great but the new themes really appeal to me. This coloring book is focused on Victorian young ladies. We see Ms. Lynn’s signature big eyed girls (with great lashes and diminutive noses) garbed in gorgeous Victorian styles. I must admit I admire the fashion but would not want to wear them. I have enough troubles with breathing and the thought of being laced into a corset would send me running (okay, walking really slow with oxygen in tow) for the hills. Still, the young women look lovely and seem to have adapted quite well (though I notice the young lady in her nightgown is curved naturally to the side instead of standing bolt upright!) The designs are detailed with either a two line frame or finished motifs throughout. I don’t consider the designs to be intricate or hard to color but will take some time and attention. That will make the book even more fun to color This is what I found in this coloring book: 25 unique Victorian Miss Designs in the book. You get two copies of each design for a total of 50 coloring pages Printed one side of the page Paper is typical inexpensive quality by CreateSpace printing: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The designs do not merge into the binding. There are framing lines or finished motifs at the outer edges Glue Binding Create Space Paper/Media Quality Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly. Water-based markers bleed through in spots. Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats. Coloring Pencils work fairly well with this publisher’s paper provided you don’t press extremely hard while coloring. I find that I can layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and blended easily with a pencil style blending stick. This is true of both oil and wax based pencils. I have also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper. I like to use a blotter when working in this type of book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below. Review: EXCELLENT COLORING BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Initially I purchased this book for my own personal use however after finding the images so delightful to color I made sure to buy again for my daughter's recent coloring party!!!!!!!!! The paper quality is very acceptable for both colored pencils and gel pens - which personally I tend to mix in my coloring endeavors. And the real selling point for my purchases is the artistry of Hannah Lynn!!!!!! Her renderings are so good that even a non-artist like myself can turn out really pretty pages!!!!!!!!! This particular book rates high on my list because of the femininity of the designs!

Another Hannah Lynn Homerun!
I'm a proud owner of all of Hannah Lynn's books and this one is a beautiful addition! There are two sets of each image, so there are 25 images but a total of 50. In her previous book she did different eyes on the duplicates and this one is not like that. All of the images are absolutely the same! Pictures are fantastic and the women are very elegant! There are a few pictures that do not have backgrounds but the girls are not free floating as they have framework around them. Well done. Well done. This is printed on create space paper that I personally love although a lot of people tend to complain about it. I use micro with pencils or an oil and find that I can get a good finish.

Good artistry, and shipping and love it all together!!
This is such a cute coloring book! I love the style and artistry! This coloring book has 25 (I think) pictures but each coloring picture has a twin, which is fun because you can color the same picture twice/differently. You can use crayons or coloring pencils (which is what I use and I find it best) or coloring pens. Highly recommend!! I need to collect the other books. Good shipping, very pristine.

I like it!!!!
Hanna Lynn’s images are available instantly recognizable (in a good way). She has so many books, this being my first. I had no idea which to choose so i went with this one because I like victorian era stuff and i thought the costumes and hairstyles would be fun to color. i was right! Two copies of each image which helps me because i am new to coloring with alcohol markers so i frequently mess up! printed on one side. Nice lines, very well printed. Pretty cover. All in all a quality book.

Victorian loveliness
I actually bought this on accident. I thought i was getting the steampunk one. But im glad I did because I love this book. The images are the same style as all of Hannah Lynn's other coloring books (which i have) but in a Victorian theme. The only issue is the paper isn't the best quality but for the price I think it is absolutely fine. I love, love, love how the images are one sides because you can use alcohol markers or watercolors without ruining the other side. Including 2 of each image is womderful too, mess up? Want another color scheme? Whatever you want, it makes it easier and less intimidating to know you have a backup if you need it.

Wonderful coloring book
The title of this book is perfect, and this is just a wonderful coloring book all the way around. The artwork is superb, and fairly detailed so best suited for adults. There are 50 coloring pages - 25 designs with 2 copies of each. Some examples of scenes are a Victorian darling about to go on a cruise, at a circus, winter scene with a cardinal, in a Victorian dress shop, and more. You will not be disappointed.
