Gadgy Popcorn Maker Round - 800W Non-stick Coated Pop Corn Machine

This makes incredible popcorn. Something about the combination of stirring the kernels whilst they are getting hot, being able to put salt (or I presume sugar) in with them, and adding butter to the lid so it drips through gradually all comes together to make popcorn that is a perfect combination of fluffy and crisp. It's easy to clean also, and fully non stick. The not so good: There's a cap you're supposed to be able to put on the lid once the popcorn is ready so you turn the lid upside down - into a bowl - and use it for eating without (presumably) butter/oil/bits coming through the holes for butter application whilst cooking. Mine simply failed at that task entirely. Like it won't attach and stay on. It's a hard type of plastic and doesn't even fit properly. Also, the clear plastic bowl is really brittle. It's my fault, but even with a degree of care when washing it up I managed to crack it.

This is amazingly good ! Works perfectly, you have to be careful as v hot & be prepared with an oven cloth to turn out onto the bowl’s lid so popcorn doesn’t burn.

Positives- It makes popcorn well and quick, little burning and a cool idea leaving the butter on the lid to drip onto the popcorn whilst mixing. Negatives - Build quality is awful, instead shameful. The lid has melted after the first use due to the plastic material being so weak and flimsy probably due to cutting cost instead of making a product fit for purpose. The lid is that flimsy the black cap supplied with it, that has the intended use to be place on the top of the lid so you can flip it over and use it as a bowl, pops off. So now I have a melted bowl, that I can’t turn upside down cause all the popcorn falls out. Absolutely unacceptable for a manufacturer to even sell a product to the public. Imagine buying a kettle that melts when it gets to the boiling point? Well thats what your getting here folks but with a popcorn maker.

Very good practice and simple does everything it promises without difficulties

I did slightly burn the first batch but you're supposed to throw it away anyway. I use 1 tbsp of groundnut/peanut oil and 1/4 cup of kernels. This gives me half a bowl full. I find I need to put the butter in the top before it starts popping or it won't melt in time. I remove the hot plate as soon as it stops popping. Following this method, I get perfect popcorn every time!

You should know firstly that I’m picky. I research, I try stuff and if i don’t like I have no issues immediately replacing things. Not this. I love this. Do yourself a favour and don’t cheap out on kernels, buy proper seasoning and experiment with seasoning before or after, oil or no oil. The machine is fab and so each to clean and use. Big fan

Burns the popcorn within two minutes if you use butter spray (I tried different amounts of it three times). Will try using a different oil next time. :/
