Feels like it is using more than it does
Can a low-flow shower head be as good as a regular shower head? This product proves that it is. I bought the shower head because we live in Las Vegas. Our primary water source comes from Lake Mead. Lake Mead water is at historic lows. We could run out of water sometime in the future. I wanted to find a way to conserve as much water as possible. I also wanted to save a good amount of money on my water bill. I originally found low-flow shower heads when I discovered the Moen Nebia. It seemed magical that it could give you the same shower experience while using less water. I wanted to buy it until I discovered the price. It is $212 for the cheapest one. I found that pretty outrageous that it cost as much as a brand new smartphone just to save water. I discovered this product while browsing on Amazon, it is the same exact concept as the Nebia. It is supposed to save Water by restricting the flow. The price is way cheaper than Nebia. About 13 times cheaper. I Decided to buy this because it is very affordable and also includes the 10-year warranty. I first tried the product today and it is very enjoyable to use. For starters, the design looks unusual to say the least. I like the metallic, chrome look on it is way narrower than other shower heads, but it still looks pretty good. It kind of looks like a tuna cactus fruit in my setup. The design is very subjective, but I don't mind it. The build quality also feels better than decent. It is all plastic, but it does have some heft and doesn't creak or flex when squeezing it, which is good. The best part when it comes to its build quality is that when you turn on the water and turn it off, it doesn't drip water. This is a step up compared to other shower heads. This means it probably a high quality valve or seal mechanism. I have noticed however that it doesn't keep a straight spray and it kind of Wiggles, which is unusual but not a big deal. Using this product is amazing. It uses 0.5-1.5 gallons per minute, which is way less than the average shower head that uses 2.5 gallons of water. Despite that, however, it feels like it's using way more than that. It was able to give me the same experience as my old shower head while using less water. It was the perfect amount of pressure, and the distribution is very even. This just proves that you don't have to sacrifice comfort to save water The pressure is also higher, which is surprising. That can be a good thing depending on your water pressure. If you have a higher than average water pressure than this thing might feel like needles. I have an average water pressure oh, and this thing gives me the perfect amount of pressure. Most of the time, I use the 0.5 – 1.0 setting, since it is adequate for me. The 1.5 setting is a little too much pressure for me. Overall, this is an amazing shower head that's going to save money and water. It is just as comfortable as any other 2.5 GPM shower head, while using less. The building is sturdy enough to last a good amount of time. The design is subjective but doesn't look bad. There are no sacrifices of this water low flow shower head except for the design. Anybody one that cares about saving their water bill and the environment should buy this. It is the same price as other shower heads. I have a good feeling this is going to pay for itself in about a couple weeks.

Install correctly
I purchased this shower head and I quickly installed it using Teflon tape and hand tightening. While the shower head worked well, it did leak a bit. I initially thought the use of plastic for the coupling was the culprit. However, I removed the shower head and the Teflon tape to try again. This time, I did it correctly. After I removed the tape to reapply, I used a small wire brush to thoroughly clean the threads before taping with Teflon tape. I was surprised at how much crud came out of the threads, even though it wasn't immediately obvious after removing the old shower head. After retaping the threads, the shower head worked without leaks. I have no issues with the shower head turning at the joint when adjusting the flow. All in all, I think this is a great product for the price. I really like the flow options.... the .5 gal setting works great to keep a warm trickle flow on you while soaping up should you be inclined to take "navy" style showers (totally stopping the water while soaping up). I rarely used the 1.5 gallon setting, the 1 gallon setting it more than enough for me. This shower head is a bargain at the price.

Very good, but could be a little bit better
So as the other reviews state, do not expect a spa experience here. I used this shower head to replace a 1.5 gpm Delta water efficient head purchased here on Amazon for around 30 bucks. At 1.5 gpm, the Delta offers a higher pressure, higher quality shower. But the Delta can't drop down to 1.0 GPM, now can it? At 1.0 gpm, this AM showerhead "works fine". You will get clean, and not waste any extra heat or water. So it hits its target as being one of the more/most water efficient showerheads you can buy, and very cheap to boot. If I had to give it strikes, it would be the following. A) I feel like the streams could be a little tighter/narrower instead of radiating out. A more targeted stream might feel a little nicer and really allow you to "maximize" the 1.0 gpm flow. B) Durability. It feels like a cheaper showerhead, which is perfectly fine if there are no moving parts. This showerhead twists in order to toggle between modes. Things that pivot regularly will eventually fail. Though my plan is to keep it at 1.0 gpm 99% of the time, so maybe this will be a nonissue for me. c) If these needle streams had higher pressure, I think I would enjoy the lower flow more. Some people don't like high pressure, but for low flow showers, I personally feel like the help clean better and make the experience slightly more "massage-like". But I guess that is a personal preference, so take it for what its worth. But if your goal is to drop bills, be more eco/green/personally responsible, save wear and tear on your heating/plumbing, than this showerhead will accomplish that at a cost of luxury. What showerhead would Jesus choose? I think Jesus would go eco-flow fo sho.

Save water, save money, no compromise.
Wow! I cannot say enough fantastic things about this shower head! I try to tell as many people about this thing as I can. This has 3 settings, 0.5gpm, 1.0gpm, and 1.5 gpm. Installation is so simple that anyone who can get their hands above their shoulders for 5 minutes should be able to do it. You might need an adjustable wrench to add a little tension, but that's it. This arrived with 1' of white plumbers tape, in a clean recyclable package. Once the unit is installed, it's ready to go. You can adjust the water setting by twisting the black ring to one of the three settings, even while the water is running through it. At 0.5gpm, this thing gently soaks the user in a shower of rain, although it's a little bit less than what you'd need to shampoo hair. If you can tolerate waiting an extra minute to rinse though, this will save a ridiculous amount of water. At 1.0gpm, (preferred setting), you can easily shower and rinse shampoo. The force of the water is mild, however, the conical spread is narrow. At 1.5 gpm, this thing feels absolutely drenching. I don't typically use this setting, but it works well when you need to shower because-you-overslept-and-now-you're-late-for-work. The force of the water is fairly strong, but nothing that should cause skin irritation. I have been using this for over a year now, and after turning the setting switch thousands of times, it hasn't failed or leaked yet. I am truly impressed, and as soon as this breaks, (if ever), I will immediately purchase another. Oh, by the way, compared to a 2.5gpm shower head, this thing will probably cut your water heating bill down to 1/3-1/2 of what it is now!

Great adjustable control to low flows
Very pleased with this, offers nice control of flow to low levels and allow me to take a steamy hotter shower for longer with less water and energy use. The spray pattern is a bit wide but that works for my medium-sizes shower stall because I am close to the shower head. It is super easy to turn it up when you want more flow to rinse and then turn it down when you want minimal flow to lather up. Thumbs up on this showerhead

Perfect for water conservation
First off it is not CHROME. I got a white version. TO THE COMPANY: If you are going to ship whichever color you have in stock, "color may vary" note that on the product page. I went back and read the product description, it says "red", picture of chrome... For that reason alone, I would give this 1 star. For the shower head itself, once installed it performs as expected, very low flow on the .5gpm setting. Too low for people who are not serious about conserving water. It is ideal for wetting and soaping up. The 1.0gpm and 1.5gpm would be fine for rinsing and still conserving water. The water comes out of 10 holes in the center of the shower head, dispersing to over a foot wide 2 ft from the head. On the narrow side but still fine. The water is pulsating, broken streams, I prefer this over the solid, stinging, sandpaper feeling of other low flow shower heads. The wife and kids love to lounge in a steaming hot shower daily, I can't afford the water bill associated with a 2.5gpm shower head. The wife agrees, the kids don't know yet, but it is here to stay. This thing will pay for itself in a week! If you truly want to save water this shower head will work, no it won't match the power of others but it's not suppose to. Plus it's better for the environment where usable water is being depleted faster than replenished. I also installed low flow aerators on all the facets.

Unbelievable Water Saver
This showerhead is amazing! To have an option for 1 GPM that offers a comfortable experience is phenomenal. It's NOT the most powerful stream, but that's not the point. If your goal is to make a positive impact on the environment (and can't bring yourself to simply take shorter showers), this is a very effective approach. The 1.5 GPM option is good for when a bit of extra umph is needed, but the showerhead remains in 1 GPM mode for the large majority of showers. Highly recommended!

Best if using as little water as possible is your primary goal
I've used a lot of different low flow shower heads over the years, and when we moved into a new house I decided to try this new offering from the same company that makes the "Niagra". We previously used this model and were very happy with it: Niagara Earth Massage Handheld - 1.5gpm Bottom line: * If saving water really feels good to you and you are willing to adjust the head while you shower, you may enjoy this * If you are far away from the showerhead (it's mounted high or you're short), stay away There are two unusual features in this unit: Feature 1 is oscillating flow: this head combines a "spray style" (rather than "stream style") low-flow head with an internal spinning element powered by the water similar to what you may have experienced on "massage" shower head settings. In this case it operates all of the time, and the result is a reduction in water use; maybe 1/3 of the nozzles are spraying at full blast at any given time while the others are barely going. But because the stronger spray rotates around, it (sort of) gives the impression of a higher-flow head. Feature 2 is adjustable water flow: as described in the writeup, you have three choices: * .5gpm: best for soaping up. This is my favorite feature- unlike other heads which have valves which allow you to shut off the flow entirely, the .5gpm setting keeps things nice and warm while you soap, while using a minimal amount of water. The water coming out during this setting gets hotter; I suspect this is not an intentional feature and it may nbe a quirk of our plumbing, but the result is good. * 1.0gpm: for rinsing off your body. It works. * 1.5gpm: for rinsing your hair. Besides a higher volume of water, this spray is rather vigorous. but because of the oscillation (as described above) it doesn't use as much water as you would think. This may be uncomfortable for some on the skin, but works pretty well on the hair. The result of these two features working together is a study in compromise; the 1.5gpm would be plenty of water, but it's delivered in a forceful way that isn't entirely comfortable. At 1.0 you have more comfortable spray, but the reduction in water and comfort compared with 1.5gpm shower heads is noticeable. For me, neither is "just right". The main problem with the unit is the fact that the spray pattern is very wide, and it "spits" a lot- if you are facing the shower head, there's enough spray falling outside the "main" cone that your face will be constantly splattered, which is not very pleasant. Like many other "spray"-style heads, the water loses temperature very quickly as you get further from the head. As a result, if your shower head is mounted high or if you are short, you get a very diffuse spray that doesn't rinse well or feel comfortable, and if you turn up the hot water enough to be nice and warm, your bathroom will become very steamy. In my case, being on the tall side and getting a great deal of enjoyment from saving water, I'd keep it. But my wife doesn't like it at all, so we'll be ordering one of the Niagra units instead. AM Conservation... if you are listening, my ideal shower head would be one of the Niagra units with the "massage" setting replaced by the tri-max's .5gpm setting for soaping. Get on that!

Elegant in it's simplicity.
Love this product. It arrived on time and it works as advertised. Impressed with the feel of rotating the head for changing the setting - "clicks" into place nicely. I can already tell that I'm using less water; can't wait to see it reflected in my next water bill.
