Great daily use alternative
Great alternative to tampons. Easy to empty and continue to use during the day without a mess of touching anything.

worth. every. penny.
I absolutely love these. I have never been a huge fan of tampons, so when I found these I was hesitant…but after a year…i buy nothing else. I work 13 hour shifts and this makes that so much easier! I dont have leaking or anything! Seriously worth every penny

Loved it at first, not sure now.
I have been using this disc for 4 cycles. The first time, it was difficult for me to get it right. But once I got it 'right' I loved it. With tampons I'd have to change them every hour for the first couple of days. It was so nice not to be bothered by going to the bathroom every freaking hour with the disc. The second and third cycle was great, very minimal leakage. The 4th cycle, it's been a nightmare. I was awoken at 4 AM this morning needing to change it out. By 8 AM I was leaking BAD, and again about 12PM. I don't know if my flow is heavier this 4th go around but I have been frustrated. I have been irritated with the "mess-free" claim. Bearing down ALWAYS causes it to leak out , and of course it's all over my finger. They claim that you can 'self empty' when you go to the bathroom by bearing down, so how do they claim that bearing down to get it out is 'mess free'? Lucky for me, I've never had to change one while I wasn't home, so I can rinse my hand when I'm done with the messy part. Somehow I always find blood on or around the toilet as well. It drips on its' way to put it in the wrapper to dispose. If I put the wrapper in my underwear to dispose of the disc, it would just get blood all over the underwear. I've had to start cleaning the toilet when I'm done to ensure no blood is left behind. That has bee the downfall for EVERY 4 cycles I've used it for. I'm beginning to think mess free isn't possible with any product. I like the ease of not having to change it so often (twice a day), but after this last time, that may change.

better than tampons
I have completely switched away from tampons to using flex discs instead. they are so much more comfortable. I can go almost 12 hours without having to change it. minimal leaks. super easy to use.

Few cons, but lots of pros.
So I would like to start off by saying I have used variety of menstrual products before and I have to say that the flex disc ranks up there at #1 for me. For me the pros outweigh the cons. You get up to 12 hours (more or less depending on your personal heaviness) of almost leak free collection. Unlike a cup that forms the air tight seal the disc just kinda rides there nestled above the pelvic bone. This can cause leaks on heavier days. For those days I just throw on a reusable pad. However the auto-dump feature is pretty great if you effectively engage your pelvic floor muscles. Other than that, you barely feel its there. It is a little messy to remove during that learning curve but I find that sitting on the toilet, using JUST your pointer finger, when pulling it down angle it towards whichever side feels comfortable for you, and it wont cover your entire hand upon removal. (Also note that if you remove quickly while its still partially full, the ring will snap back out and blood will fling everywhere). Keeping all that in mind, the disc isn't for everybody so maybe it would be cool if they had like a sample pack that maybe contained 2 or 3 discs so you could try it before you spend the $16-18 bucks for the full 12 pack only to find out its not for you.
