The Best Sports Smartwatch I’ve Ever Owned
Absolutely phenomenal. The Garmin Forerunner 970 exceeded all of my expectations. The AMOLED display is stunning, incredibly sharp, and easy to read in any lighting condition. GPS accuracy is outstanding, the training metrics are extremely detailed, and the battery life is impressive even with heavy daily use. I use it for workouts, walking, and everyday health tracking, and it performs flawlessly. The build quality feels premium, it's comfortable to wear all day, and every feature works smoothly and reliably. If you're looking for a high-end sports smartwatch with advanced performance metrics, excellent battery life, and top-tier quality, this is worth every penny. Without a doubt, one of the best tech purchases I've ever made. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the best smartwatches as a Triathlete
One of the best smartwatches I’ve used as a triathlete. Comes with a built in triathlon function that can track all 3 sports + transition times. Battery life lasts pretty much 2 weeks and recharges while I’m in the shower. Garmin also syncs all data from the Forerunner 970 with the Edge bike computers and connects with their heart rate straps and if you use a Wahoo/Zwift trainer everything syncs together as well. Display is super bright and comes with an always on display now + built in flashlight at the top which is probably one of the best things about the watch. I’ve also seen zero scratches on the display so I can attest the sapphire display they use is definitely more durable than my last Apple Watch’s display glass. It takes some getting used to compared to how easy Apple Watches are to pick up immediately but everything just makes sense once you figure it out.

This watch is worth every penny!
This is the absolute best "smart watch" that has all the performance features I want even though, realistically, I won't use as many of them as I talked myself into believing when I made the decision to buy it. The Venu 4 was the other contender but I really wanted the on wrist color maps of the 970 even though the price was nearly $200 more. Another positive note on the new Garmin watches in general is the marked improvement in the UI and how customizable it is. My old Venu 2 Plus was very clunky and everything was buried deep in a chaotic menu structure. That watch, however, is still running strong. Other than theses points and the basic high quality of Garmin devices, the biggest advantage is the phenomenal battery life! I am getting 10-15 days depending g on how I use it. I have a Galaxy Ultra which I absolutely love but it needed to be charged everyday, even when not using workout features, which is why I was looking for replacement in the first place. If you can take the price hit, this is the beast to get.

This watch is awesome for the things it is capable to do for a runner, such as myself. I've moved on from a Samsung Watch 5(Samsung fan), to this and I have not been disappointed! I'd say it is pretty pricy, and this is my first time ever owning such a watch. I had picked this(2nd best) over Garmin's Fenix 8 (Their top watch), due to me not really wanting to pay a little extra for the extra features such as the Solar Charging or Longer battery life, because I don't mind charging my watch ever so often and I am not outside THAT much for it to make a difference. At least 2 hours at most for my training. The watch will last me a long enough (~10 to 14days) without charging and I am happy with that versus me having to charge my Samsung watch like 1.5x a day which was getting annoying. The quality of the watch is amazing, the Glass is supposed to be stronger than the Gorilla kind and the material of the bezel makes it look so premium. The charging speed is also pretty good, I don't realize how fast it charges but I know it's quick (~1hr) from 0 to 100. The sensors it has seems pretty good and capable of tracking my daily results. It is keeping me in shape. Overall I recommend for the runners or just anyone who likes to keep track of things or a good, lasting watch!

The gadget that i always want to have.
As a recreational runner, the Garmin Forerunner 970 has proven to be a tremendous gadget that has truly transformed my training. The amount of data it collects is impressive, allowing me to monitor my progress with professional-grade accuracy. The device stores and translates complex metrics into a simple format, making it easier to make decisions to improve my fitness. I must admit that, at first, it is complicated to understand so much information and navigate through all the features it offers. However, once you get past the learning curve, it becomes indispensable. It is a powerful tool that, while offering elite-level functions, perfectly adapts to those of us who run for passion and health. A high-quality investment that keeps me motivated to keep clocking in miles!

Great Watch!
I’ve been using this for about 8 months now and I have zero complaints. I track my energy levels, sleep, steps, heart rate, and even more! The display is very easy to read, I use the flashlight feature multiple times a day, and the charge lasts two weeks! Despite my clumsiness, there is not a single scratch on it! Only complaint is that if im cleaning or scrubbing things, my hand will hit the side buttons and unintentionally start a workout.

Amazing watch!!
This is one of the best Garmin watches I've ever had. The bright AMOLED screen is awesome, and the features are second to none. I love the color scheme with the gold bezel and buttons. I also love the color of the watch band, but found it too long as it wraps around my wrist almost twice, and also don't like that the band is not a QuickFit band. I like to switch out colors occasionally, so I replaced the band with similar 22mm QuickFit bands. I just wish Garmin would make this original band with a QuickFit connector. The battery life on this watch is amazing!! It lasted through a 5-hour race while playing music on it, and normally only needs to be charged every couple weeks. It's also really cold you can download and customize your watch faces. If you buy this watch you won't be sorry!

The Ultimate Triathlon Watch
I use the Garmin Forerunner 970 every single day, and buying it has been one of the best investments I've made. As a triathlete, it has everything I need for swimming, cycling, and running—and much more. The training and performance metrics are outstanding, and the sleep tracking has been incredibly useful. Coming from the Apple ecosystem, I was especially impressed by the battery life. It lasts so much longer than I expected, making it easy to wear 24/7 without worrying about charging. Despite all of its features, the watch is incredibly lightweight and very comfortable to wear all day and night. I barely notice it's on my wrist. Paired with the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus, it becomes an exceptional combination for running and swimming metrics, and overall training analysis. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about running or triathlon.

Excellent product, best sports watch available.
Fantastic item, worth the expense. Lots of running data (probably more than I need, would be enough for an elite runner). Upgraded from a Forerunner 165 mainly for the maps (which are excellent, almost OS map quality) and the ability to plot courses on the watch. Music and lap times through bluetooth headphones. The watch also has a speaker to give times and warnings about pace (too slow/fast) which are useful during races when I don't wear headphones. Also has inbuilt torch which is good enough to assist when running after dark, and suprisingly useful at other times (think searching in dark cupboards, examining fuse box, etc). Battery normally lasts me about five days, with running everyday and on a fairly bright setting. Would be less if you used the "always on" setting. Screen bright and easy to read, even when racing (without my reading glasses!), and the screens are all customisable whether you are interested in pace, distance, heart rate, time in heart zones, ascent/descent, etc. The watch has metrics for loads of other sports, including cycling, swimming, snowboarding, etc, which I cannot comment on, but for a distance runner this is probably the best sports watch available today.
