Thor's Raw Power Chocolate Protein Superfood, 16 oz

I had given up doing smoothies for lunch...too many carbs! Then this came along, and I learned how to do them with more protein and less carbs...its great stuff.

I'm new to the whole raw food lifestyle. I wanted to keep up my strength building workouts and immediately noticed that raw salads, soups and vegetable smoothies didn't give me the same stamina and results that whey protein delivered. I bought this product thinking that I could substitute it for my whey protein shakes and keep moving forward.I hear that your taste changes when you've been on raw food for awhile....that you begin to crave more vegetables and wholesome raw foods. I'm guessing that's what happened where this product is concerned. The developers must be hard core raw foodists who haven't eaten anything but vegetables and raw food for years.I've never met any chocolate that I didn't like, but I couldn't finish the shake that I made with this product. I made the shake with just water and ice...no junk, no frills. The flavor isn't really chocolate either. I couldn't place the flavor. I've tried to get it out and make shakes from time to time, but I still can't stand it.It's products like this that make you wonder, "...what on earth were these people thinking?...". Did something change between the time it was packaged and the time it arrived at my house? Maybe some critical element of the shake doesn't travel well or only tastes good for a short while after being packaged? This product needs to be reformulated and tested at length. Instead of formulating and tasting it, maybe formulate it, package it and leave it to settle for a month or more. Then taste it and see if the flavor is still there. There's nothing chocolate about this product. What's more, it's not worth anything if I can't use it for it's intended purpose.I won't buy this again.I wish I could rate NO stars.Thanks,ka

I have this in my smoothie every day and love it! I mix mine with a few other things including: (water) banana, coconut oil and chia seeds. The main reason I love this product is that it was the only quality protein powder I found that met my dietary needs due to my food allergies. It's difficult to find a good protein powder that is organic, gluten free that also does not contain either soy, rice or whey. I was thrilled to have found this and highly recommend it. If you find that you don't love the taste, play with adding some things to change it up.

Reviewers that gave this a low score based on taste I just don't understand... The reason to buy this product is for the nutrient rich ingredients its made of and the company's high standards when selecting and processing those ingredients. it's chocolate flavored because it has cacao as an ingredient, the antioxidant rich substance with which chocolate is made. If you're looking for a "good tasting" protein you may want to look somewhere else, but for general health and nutrients this stuff is the bomb! I use 2 scoops mixed with almond milk and a banana after workouts and I feel more energized.

I wish I had paid more attention to the 1 star reviews of this product. Those that have said that this tastes NOTHING like chocolate are exactly right. Like another person who reviewed this protein, I almost couldn't finish the first and ONLY shake that I made with this stuff. I rarely review products. But, I could not sit idly by and allow someone else to purchase this stuff. The company that makes this product is completely insane if their taste testers were able to even get a 'hint' of chocolate in this stuff...I am returning mine and asking for a free return label...THAT'S how bad it is!

This is an easily assimilable, delicious protein source with premium ingredients. Everyone is a super food. How great is that!

This product gets the occasional complaint about the apparent lack of protein in the shake. At only eight grams it may seem like a waste of time. But let's look at the ingredients: Hemp... Brazil Nut... Maca... Goji... Cacao... Mesquite... and Maca Extreme. All raw and organic. I ask that you do some simple research into these 'superfoods' and you will quickly see that there are far more benefits to be found in this than simply eight grams of protein. And I promise, you WILL feel the effects; which is why I reccomend that you not take this late in the evening as it may keep you up late.There's a drawback, of course; and that's the taste. It is horrendous. But it's completely raw with no added chemicals for taste, so I kinda expected that. I take this nearly everyday and I can honestly say that it's worth it.~nico

Blend this mix to hemp milk and fruit ( bananas, berries) and it is quite yummy. A vegan delight and truly leaves a feeling of satisfaction!
