Can anyone who recently purchased this item confirm product description of bulb is truly incandescent? I specifically do not want LED. Thanks!

its not led is liek incandescent . i didn t' want led either.this one is great

A couple of the reviews mention "candle" mode. Does that mean stand it up on it's end to light the room? Or something else?

Yes, that is exactly what it means. The LED version of this light has candle mode too. I recommend you spend a few more bucks and buy the LED version.

The product description says this is 8"x4"... that can't be right. So, how long is the flashlight please?

5 3/4 inches long if it is the one that takes 2 batteries.

Does the blue filter come with it?

Blue filter is inside the larger head.
