Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein Powder (Chocolate, 4 lbs)

Received my 4lb bag and the top of the bag had a slight opening which leaked powder all over the box. Not good. Not rating on this issue. Rating on taste and clean ingredients. Though subjective, I really liked the taste of this choco protein powder. I mix it with unsweetened almond milk, oat bran and chocolate peanut butter powder for taste and extra protein. Mixed well and was an overall good tasting shake. And all the reviews complaining about the bag not resealing, yeah the bag is crappy but who doesn’t have another air tight container in their home? Come on people, stop complaining about trivial crap. If you want a good tasting protein powder that has clean ingredients and low fillers, give this a try.

Ascent chocolate protein powder is my everyday go-to protein powder to use in my morning shake. It has a great, rich, creamy chocolatey flavor, is very clean-tasting, and gives me energy to start my day off right, without loading up on carbs. The powder is never clumpy and it mixes smoothly in milk. I’ve tried lots of other protein powders throughout the years but this one is by far the best.

It’s a great product, very nice taste and mixes well in water and other smoothies . No stomach or digestion issues. I struggled a bit with locking thier packaging after opening and eventually couldn’t use their pouch. But other than that it’s a good change in my protein buy.

This protein powder is really tasty. I blended it with ice and a cup of almond milk for breakfast.. I bought 2 bags because the price is so nice. I will be buying more when I start running low.

So I kind of look at protein powder in terms of what I *don't* want. No sugar. No aspertame, sucralose, xylitol or other sugar alcohols. No more than 3 or 4 grams of carbs to the serving. Not tough to blend up with my little hand frother. Oh, and it needs to be a good value.Ascent meets those requirements, and it tastes reasonably decent in my AM coffee. That puts it head and shoulders above others I tried, although I think I could possibly find it more palatable if the cocoa ingredient was dark (vs. alkali treated), also if there was monkfruit or allulose in the mix to balance out stevia, which can be a bit bitter. Other flavors I can adjust by adding to the coffee: cinnamon or ginger or nutmeg, maybe some heavy cream or MCT oil - those last two being kind of a keto thing.Now and again when I just can't stand to look at another serving of pork/egg/fish/chicken but I need some protein, I'm glad enough to have Ascent on hand. Just don't tell Dr. Boz; she kinda forbids whey protein. (IYKYK.)
