This is exactly what it states and worked perfect for me. I see a few reviews that felt it was misleading because they only needed to replace the glass over their screen, but if you look at the images this is clearly the LCD screen as it says in the description. I mean the images show the connector for it and everything. I don't see how there is any confusion. Also I thought Mine as scratched like other people are saying but then I removed the protective film off of the screen and it was in mint condition. It is a pretty tricky part to replace but the part itself was excellent.

This screen worked perfectly fine. Brightness and colors look good.

I bought this under the assumption I could fix my cracked top screen. Of course this is the wrong part for that, and I didn't notice that when I bought it. Even i did end up using it the whole thing is covered in scuff marks. It looks like someone dragged it along pavement. Over all I'm pretty bummed out I waited almost a month for this thing.

The screen worked perfect. It does come with extras incase the outer plastic screen was scratched and that was unexpected for replacement possibilities. The instal was easy and everything that you need came with the kit. I say kit because it really is more than just the screen that comes in the box. It works great so far but be careful with the install it is fragile.

It is in fact what it says it is, not just the backlight. HOWEVER, I've been replacing screens on electronics since my teens and I've replaced multiple ds screens. I've never had a ribbon cable rip just from rolling and gently sliding it through the hinge. It also split in the spot it is supposed to bend so it can slide through the hinge. Frankly, it's the lowest quality ribbon cable I've ever worked with, and now I'm going to have to buy another from a different seller just to fix the 2dsxl, which.. will bring the total cost up to that of a used replacement. I'd suggest trying a different supplier for this part.

I ordered this product under the assumption that it would replace my entire screen assembly. This is not true. What you are getting here is the backlight assembly plus screen protectors and a wipe. So the description of “top screen” replacement is a bit of a misnomer since the top screen is multipart (lcd screen with backlight behind it.) I will tell you this: the product did arrive in perfect condition and had everything important neatly tucked in molded soft foam padding. You would not need to worry about getting a damaged ribbon cable assembly or a scratched backlight. If you are going to the trouble to fix your top display, however, most likely what’s wrong is your LCD screen somehow got cracked and is leaking from those cracks and obstructing your view with puddles of black. Very few people have accidents with their DS units that somehow only take out the very secure multilayer flexible backlight while leaving the extremely rigid fragile LCD screen unharmed. My point is that 10/10 you do not need to swap your backlight. No matter what if you’re getting something that involves an lcd touchscreen and is small enough to fit into your pocket and get forgotten, get a protection plan on it. Get an extended warranty. There are next to zero suppliers for just the LCD and outside of that you’re looking at paying for a completely new DS ($150-200.)

Getting the ribbon cabled curled amd back through was the most difficult part. To put it as another reviewer already said "The screen functions just as well as the original with no defects. It shipped on time and was packaged safely."

Don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they decided to glue the damn screws behind super strong tape. Be careful when using a hairdryer to remove it otherwise you will end up with an art piece like (The Persistence of Memory).
