This ceiling light has been a great upgrade. It gets very bright, looks clean and modern, and gives the room a much better overall feel. The app controls are one of the best parts because it makes it easy to adjust brightness, color temperature, and settings without any hassle. I also like that it can change the mood of the room depending on what I want, whether I need bright lighting or something softer and more relaxing. Overall, it is a solid smart light that looks good, works well, and adds a lot more control than a basic ceiling fixture.

My only complaint about this light is that you cannot have bright white light with a colored rim. I guess maybe they did that because it is so bright on white light that it would drown out the color. If that’s the case, they should’ve made the color brighter on the rim. As far as the looks go, my first thought was that it’s a bit clunky, even compared to the first generation. That may just be because of the size. Once I got it up, it does not look bad at all. It looks nice. It’s definitely put together well because I had a mishap and the light fell from the ceiling to the floor and there’s only two minor or a little dings on it. It still works perfectly. The anchor screws that come with that are made for ceilings of normal thickness. I live in a trailer and the ceiling is much thinner. So when the anchor opens as you screw it in, there’s a gap between where it opens and the ceiling so it just sort of falls out about a quarter inch. Then it just falls out all the way because my ceiling sucks. This is not the fault of light. It is my ceiling. The options for colors on this light or endless. I did not count the segments, but there must be 30 or so. Even though the light is much brighter than the first generation, I still wish it was brighter with the colors. The bright white light is acceptable, but the colors need to be brighter. I feel like Govee needs to go back to the drawing board on this one and create a new light that is more aesthetically, pleasing and projects color further out on the ceiling and allows you to have bright white light with bright color rim. Other than that, I give it five stars because it does what Govee says it will do in the Amazon advertisement

This is the most fun light I own! The options are limitless. Using the govee app and using other creators profiles is so much fun. Honestly it was a bit larger than I was expecting (but that's never a bad thing haha) and it's super bright if you want it to be. Works seamlessly with the Echo/Alexa products! It's a great product. There is a newer version out that does a little bit more but you won't beat the value for the money with this light!

What really impressed me from a technical standpoint was the Matter support. Setting this up within my existing infrastructure was incredibly smooth, and the response time is near-instant compared to older cloud-based smart lights. The 2700K to 6500K range allows me to shift from a crisp, productive daylight for hardware projects to a warm, soft glow in the evening. However, there is one technical quirk to be aware of: IR interference. I’ve noticed that the light occasionally picks up signals from my TV remote control, which causes it to unexpectedly switch light shades or scenes while I’m just trying to change the channel. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something to consider if your TV is in the direct line of sight of the fixture. The RGBIC technology is where this light stands out from basic smart fixtures. Instead of just picking one color, the DIY color segments let me create gradients that add a lot of character to the room. Whether I’m syncing it with other Govee gear or just setting a static scene, the transitions are fluid and the colors are vibrant without looking "washed out." If you're looking for a primary light source that doesn't sacrifice smart features for brightness, this is a top-tier choice.

I installed this Govee Smart Ceiling Light in my 12-year-old daughter’s bedroom, along with four other Govee smart bulbs in her recessed lights, and the result looks great. The light is bright and even, which makes the room feel much bigger and more welcoming. The best part is the color range. She loves switching from warm white for reading to soft pink or blue when she is relaxing or listening to music. It pairs easily with the Govee app and Alexa, so she can change the lighting on her own without needing help. The Govee app also allows her to select scenes, for example a sunset/sunrise or a cool animated rainbow effect. Installation was simple once the mounting plate was up, and it blends nicely with the ceiling. The only downside is that it does not work with wall dimmers, but the app control makes up for it. A bit expensive but highly recommended nonetheless. Govee is getting better and better.

I liked this lamp. It was same Govee Light, but better. I wish I received it before ULTRA arrived, so I could have tested equally them in the living room. This lamp is BRIGHT. Like really bright! I tried it in the bedroom, around 240 sqft. I am not sure why marketing put it for 120 sqft. Not a single inch was unlight. I even had to dim it 30% to stay comfortable. Light works the same whenever it is warm, cool or RGB light. Unlike Ultra, PRO does not have imbalance between warm and cold lights. Yes, it brightness might hurt the eyes if you look directly, but that is the only downside. I have a feeling that 18 inch Pro version will be better than Ultra, which is praised only for animated GIFs you can upload.. At the end of the day light is the first reason you buy it. Unfortunately, I returned this one. It was a hard decision for me, but after long consideration I went with FAN version. It is dimmer and for some reason it puts some strain on my eyes, yet it has better overall functionality and fan was a nice addition.

Installing this was very easy, looks good and brighter than I expected. Overall a great product. Nice App and works well with Google Home.

Great quality product. The colors are vibrant and the themes are entertaining for the family. The app gives you total control, allowing you freedom to customize as you desire. I love that you can control the main light and back light separately. Installation was simple. I was able to complete Installation within 45 minutes. We have several other Govee products that we were able to sync up which is great for holidays and parties. I highly recommend!

I’ll be honest—like a lot of people, Govee has slowly taken over my place. So when my wife and I saw they had a chandelier-style LED that ties into the app and syncs with everything else, it was a no-brainer. We ordered it right away. First off, the light itself is great. It’s super bright, very customizable, and the install is pretty straightforward. The effects are actually where this thing shines—you’re not stuck with one colour, you can run patterns, mix tones, and really dial in the vibe. It genuinely upgrades the look of the space. That said, there are a couple things worth pointing out. The biggest one is during install—there’s no support wire or hook to hold the fixture while you’re connecting everything. I get that modern LED fixtures don’t really need a traditional ground wire setup like older ones, but having nothing to temporarily hang it from while wiring live and neutral is just… annoying. You basically need a second set of hands or you’re juggling it mid-air. The other downside is in the app. Surprisingly, this doesn’t fully integrate with all Govee products. For example, I can’t group it with my Govee bulbs under one control, which feels like an easy win they missed. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely a gap. Overall though, it’s still a strong product. Govee just makes stuff that’s easy to use, looks great, and works reliably. My condo looks better because of it, and the control through the app is simple and smooth. Honestly, it’s getting harder to justify going with any other lighting brand at this point.

Installation is more involved than you think. Hint: take note of the QR code early (Google home, Matter setup) / it's on the side of the light. Next , use a screwdriver to pop open the wire connectors and to make life easy, install one end on the light first. Use wire nuts if you have them instead, its a lot easier. I had two neutral wires, twisted together, and it wouldn't fit in the provided connectors. The automation will not work with 5 Ghz wi-fi, only 2.4 Ghz. I wish I knew that... The app is full featured and intense! I love the plsma effects. The sound induced light- pulsing to music is really nice, but it uses your phone and you have to leave the phone near the light, if you have screen lock, it disconnects so its a limited use feature. Pure white light is really bright! You can tune the intensity. All in all a great product.
