Excellent, dependable FireWire cable
After buying a FireWire card for my Windows 11 computer I tried to use the cable that came with it for capturing video from my old camcorder. It was very sporadic in operation with Windows recognizing my device only part of the time. So I bought this Cuxnoo cable and it has been totally dependable. Not once has Windows failed to recognize the camcorder. Transfers of video have been flawless.

Old computer to MiniDV camcorder
This cable works great for transferring footage off of a bunch of my old videotapes. I had another cable that was giving me a ton of trouble, but no problem here

bought a cheapy one and it didn't work
spent a little more than the cheapy one that was clear and this is solid black and this one worked to transfer old videos

Saved the day!
I struggled with the connection between an old MacBook and my camcorder. Everything I read said it was most likely a bad port on the camcorder. As a last ditch effort I paid for this quality cable and everything works perfectly! Highly recommend.

Ready for my project now...
I have had a project waiting in the wings for years--moving the Hi-8 videos from my Sony Handycams to DVDs, or just stashing them somewhere in the cloud for awhile. I have a camera, I have held on to an old computer with a firewire port just for this, and I HAD a cable. But in a purge of cords not long ago I must have let it go, not remembering what it was for. So I ordered this to replace it. I'm still not quite ready to dig into this project, but in a quick test it seemed to connect okay. The proof will be in the pudding, but it I am hoping that this will get me all the way through.
