ET250 Voltage Meter, AC Voltage/DC Voltage Tester, Digital Multimeter, Low Voltage Tester with Batteries

Nice two pole voltage tester that doesn't require batteries. Bright orange case so it is easily found in tool bag, and is low impedance so does not react to induced ghost voltages. I like the flexibility of normal multimeter test prods which are GS38 compliant. Took a long time to get here from the US but worth waiting for. I will buy again when this inevitably gets nicked. Doesn't really need to be in a case so I use a velcro cable strap to bundle the test leads to the tester when not in use. This review relates to the ET60 - NOT this item which does require batteries.

Great tool and safe for both continuity check and voltage check. Unlike other meters you need to switch from continuity to voltage when checking either, and if you forget to switch from cont. to voltage when measuring voltage.... POOF your meter is toast. Not with this tool, it auto switches internally.. It vibrates and shows approximate voltage whether its 12 24 120 220 etc... As well as vibrates in your hand to warn you of present voltage. It beeps and led lights up when continuity is detected, such as a short or a load. The auto switching is extremely useful, it has saved me time when checking for voltage only to find a load instead. Its helped me identify the neutral wire when checking to ground when the fabric on the old wires are worn out and unidentifiable. One reviewer said the only negative is that this unit requires batteries where as others do not, however that is only for the continuity part of the tool, which others do not and require you to use yet another tool to check for shorts of loads.. Fantastic tool, was pleasantly surprised with the continuity tester portion of it. Perfect tool for finding power problems, and testing switches and switch paths.. FYI it comes with insulated tips that are removable in case you want to stick the probes into and outlet.
