Woods Two 500 Watt Portable Halogen Work Light L-13

The switch on one of the lights went bad after about a dozen uses! Too late to return! Not good.

This light is great for the price. They are very bright and definitely better for work use. I bought this to use to light up our backyard for summer BBQ’s. You really can’t point this in any direction of people. Other wise it’s a great light.

I bought 2 of these so my husband can work on things in the evening when there isn't a ton of sunlight left, but as soon as he plugged just one in, our poor neighbors were practically blinded. These are literally as bright as the Griswold house! I feel like you can see our driveway from space! He had them together really quick and didn't have any troubles. They don't take up much room either and are easy to store. My only complaint is they produce A LOT of heat, but I'm sure anything this bright would.

Very bright. The bulbs come wrapped in foam and flimsy shock case so its possible rough handling of package could cause damage. The mount near the base of the unit is extremely cheap plastic, also possible to be damaged during shipping. There are no electronics, this is a purely resistive load. Inside the button box, the metal housing of the lamp is properly bonded to ground, but no signs of water tight seal other then the point where the metal meets the plastic box*. *The lamp unit has a water tight seal around it, but the plastic electrical box does not. When you put in the bulb wear gloves when handling the bulbs or you'll get exploded ceramic like the other reviewer here got. When instructions say push the bulb right they mean it... you gatta really jam that thing in there. Possible people hear might have cracked bubls during installation. This is not something that would survive being thrown in the back of the truck, and getting setup for work each day. This is not the lamp that u take to work and have everyone touching it to do their work. It will break within the first hour. This is the light you buy to put in the corner of the basement or room so you can light up that dark work area behind the water heater. This is the light that sits in its spot in the room and never gets touched/moved from there other then to turn it on/off. once u understand that and its cheap $45 pricetag you'll know what you have bought, this is very light duty Chinesium. With extremely fragile plastics. The electrical are solid. You can cook two eggs at the same time with this unit.

NOT RECOMMENDED! I easily set the light up without instructions. That was my fault, however, because I later found the instructions buried in one of the light protector screens when I went to install the screens. THE BIG ISSUE was that neither light would initially turn on! By repeatedly clicking the ON/OFF switchs, I did get one lamp to turn on, rather irregularly. I was not able to get the second light to turn on. My first instinct was to return the lamp to Amazon, but there was an enclosed notice DO NOT to return it to Amazon, but rather return to the manufacturer. This seemed like a giant hassle in the making! Since I am skilled in working with electrical products, I decided to troubleshoot the problem and make the necessary repairs. I tested both lamps and they were OK. I opened both switch boxes and discovered the switches, in my opinion, were junk! The problem was the switches functioned irregularly... or not at all! I cut both switches out and replaced them with two quality switches of the same type, which I obtained at the local hardware store. (Gardner-Bender GSW-24) After finishing the job, I have a good work lamp for light to moderate use.

I have had this work light for about 8 months now. These worked well and were very bright, while they lasted. The first bulb burnt out after less than 4 hours of usage and the second bulb burnt out after about 20 hours. I put in replacement bulbs and they lasted much longer so they just come with crappy bulbs but the light fixtures themselves are sound. The stability of the legs leaves a lot to be desired as well. The way they are spread, all three legs are flat to the ground. Works well in a perfectly flat environment but not so well outdoors on the ground. A 15 degree angle would have gone a long way to improving the design of the legs. I have had the thing fall over so many times while trying to place it for a project that it is ridiculous. They have a wire safety cover over each of the lights but they do not lock into place well and fall off all the time when you are moving it. "Easily falls off" is not a descriptor I would look for in any of the safety features for products I am looking to buy. I still use them. They are just a bit of a pain.

best purchase I have made in a while. With work and kids there very little time to get projects around the house done during the day. This little beauty let's me work at night and provides plenty of light. I read some reviews were people said they were hard to put together, they should not have these due to lack of intelligence or no skill with building things. Probably the same people who test to see if an outlet is live by putting the screw driver in it. Took me about 5 minutes and didn't even use the instructions to see how difficult it would be, not very.

This light is a good value for the cost. I prefer to led. The lighting is better. If the height is good for you and the heat it puts off is ok then this would be a good value for you. I am happy. Wish I could get an extension for the stand to make it taller.
