Makes good coffee

We wanted to reduce our use of plastics and bought this percolator to replace our old coffee maker. We've been very happy with its performance and the coffee brewed tastes very good. A little more trouble to clean the grounds but have found if you remove the basket and let the grounds dry a bit, its easier to clean.

I have to be fair and update the following: I soaked the bottom in vinegar and the end of the stick and today it worked again. We do have hard water here and it makes great coffee but I was disappointed when it quit so soon after purchase. Original review: I Bought this Apoxcon 4 months ago. It originally made excellent coffee, but now has stopped working. I troubleshot issues and in the end the thermostat or heater went out. Disappointing after just a few months. No warranty after 30 days.

Perfect for my desk at work since we don’t have an office coffee maker, Most folks have drip makers or the machines with disposable cups but I detest them. Keeps my coffee hot. Easy to clean. Works well.

Update: After just a month and a few days, this percolator died. Flat out didn’t perk. I really loved the coffee that came out of it, and even more the nostalgia factor. I won’t lie. I am so tempted to try again but the risk seems a little more than I want. I wish I had been one of the lucky purchasers. There is a coated surface over the heating element which is not metal, unfortunately. However, after a good deal of searching, it had the least non metal of the electric units. The coffee is hot and I can’t deny that I really love the glass top knob that allows you to see the coffee perking. A very pretty appliance and the coffee comes out great.

This pot makes the best coffee. I do have to add the flat round filters to the ground basket to keep grounds from flowing into bottom of pot. If you can find coarse ground coffee may not need. Brews quickly. Is NOT auto shut off.

Excellent Percolator! Quality Materials used, longer Cord than our other percolator, makes it quite comfortable & convenient to lift off the base/cord and pour easily! Then just return to base to keep warm. Only once did I forget to use the on/off switch, which is new to me, but totally ok! And a lot Hotter Brew also!
