Very solid instrument at a reasonable price. First let me say RTFM!! I sense that a lot of the complainers didn't. Accuracy: I bought the 5% model and am very satisfied with the results it's giving. Unless you have a very stable and controlled measurement environment, the higher priced versions are unnecessary. Two minor issues: The probe appears to be very vulnerable to careless handling. Nature of the beast I suppose. Also, the meter has a fold-out stand. But since they chose to place the probe connection at the top edge, and the meter is lightweight, the stand is useless because the meter juts falls over. Bottom line, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again.

Great deal great product does as it should

Wrong tester for measuring neutral field to place a marine magnetic compass on a sailboat. One needs 2x to 3x more sensitivity to locate that 25-65 microtesla range. The AEG-8035 randomly jumps up and down .05 Gs at its smallest .00 Gs scale (up and down 50 microtesla). Compared against a mobile phone magnetometer APP that uses the imbedded mag compass sensor signal down to .01 microtesla, the AEG was the wrong tool.

This is a very good instrument for the price point. I'm working on a passion project in spintronics. This meter is incredible for under $100.

The meter is responsive and easy to use, with a clear display that’s simple to read at a glance. Controls are intuitive and don’t require much reference to the manual, which makes it easy to get up and running quickly. Functionality is solid. Measurements update smoothly, and the telescopic Hall sensor is genuinely useful for reaching tight spots where a fixed probe would struggle. The size feels right for handheld use without being bulky, and it’s easy to carry around a bench.
