Before Assassin’s Creed: Origins, there was an Oath. Egypt, 70BC, a merciless killer stalks the land. His mission: to find and destroy the last members of an ancient order, the Medjay – to eradicate the bloodline. In peaceful Siwa, the town’s protector abruptly departs, leaving his teenage son, Bayek, with questions about his own future and a sense of purpose he knows he must fulfill. Bayek sets off in search of answers, his journey taking him along the Nile and through an Egypt in turmoil, facing the dangers and the mysteries of the Medjay’s path. Review: Great book - Great story and nice cover Review: Old AC fan. First AC novel indulgence. - I don’t know why didn’t I read AC books before... Besides finishing the game and purchasing DLC’s, it adds some nice little details to the building of the characters, setting, story, etc. I felt it makes it more immersive that you have this backstory in your head, as you roam the open world of ancient Egypt (SPOILER ALERT) Such as when I roam the outskirts of Siwa, I cant Help but remember when Bayek and Aya would practice their swordmanship and duel one another; and other ‘Ways of the Medjay’ Bayek would teach Aya. Not to mention, in the desert, I would imagine where Bayek would practice snd learn to be a Medjay under his father’s hand. Eventually gaining the official Medjay badge from his father before Bion would shower them with his arrows. (END OF SPOILER) Besides the immersive connection between the novel and the actual game, I became a fan of Bowden’s style of writing. Whenever I say “I’ll just reach chapter 11 and stop for today” I find myself dragged to chapter 20! He keeps you hooked to the book, and really makes you want to know what’s next. Especially when he swithces the prespective of different characters between chapters. You want to know what will happen to character A, but you need to finish switching to character B first. In short, great book, especially if you’re playing the game before/after reading the book. Not to metion, the style of writing will keep you hooked! Looking forward to the next AC title, and novel!

What I was hoping for in this book was a ...
What I was hoping for in this book was a quick read to give me some additional backstory before Assassin's Creed Origins was released, and that's exactly what I got. Now that I have started the game, I appreciate the book even more. Bayek is a very interesting character and I'm more attached and invested in his story because I know the events of his life leading up to the game.

Bowden's Best Yet
I am familiar with the books in this franchise, even more so with the games. While I have been pleasantly surprised by Bowden in the past, particularly in Unity, this book just takes it to the next level! Bowden's story telling also shines the brightest in this entry. Once again he has managed to capture the atmosphere of the time period perfectly. I was trapped in Ancient Egypt! I'm optimistic for the game, now that we have s firm based of characters to work with. If there is a criticism from me, it would be that the bar has been set so high now that I'm not sure if it can be reached again. Recommended for fans of the series and anyone who's looking forward to Origins.

Great addition to the Games Story
After playing the game I've got to say that this book does a fantastic job of making me care about the characters even more and fleshed out backstories to some of the side characters it's entertaining and thrilling enough to say I've thought about the book multiple times in the month I've got it if you're reading this and haven't played the game or don't intend to then after reading this book I recommend going on YouTube and looking the assassins creed origins movie which compiled the main narratives cutscenes into one video.

Enter the Medjay
Decent story that promotes a deeper understanding of the characters and places in AC Origins. Preferably read before or while starting to play the game.

Good intro (but unrequired) into Assassins Creed Origins
Bought this 2 weeks before the game was released. The book as a whole was ok - I have never read anything by Oliver Bowden before, and I thought he did a good job overall. His style was a bit different for me, so it took some time getting used to. Now that I am playing Assassins Creed Origins on PS4, I think the book did a great job serving as a prequel to the game series. Bowden introduces you to the two main characters and it was great to get an intro into their previous lives before diving into the game.

The order arrived very fast and everything is good with the book.
One thing I didn't consider is that there are diferent publishers and they use difrent formats so this one does stick out a bit. But its ok at least i finished my colection.

It was for a present: A COMPLETE SUCCESS!! / Era para un regalo: ¡ÉXITO ROTUNDO!
I bought it for a super fan of the Assassin's Creed video-game saga. Even if it was not in Spanish, it was a very good excuse so he could practice his high leveled English ;P hehe He confessed to me that he was been looking to buy it because he is also a fan of Oliver Bowden, so that one was my first success with this book. And after he ended reading it, he spoke to me so well about the book that that made my purchase a glorious triumph.

Gd book over assassin lover out there !!
Am a big fan of assassin creed franchise .. although am a book head ..somehow ..I found it bit difficult to understand at the beginning but as chapters passed by the suspense and story went quite smooth for me .. Ofc its not recommended for someone who is just new into the novel world ...but the story the vocab used here is quite amazing .. I liked the cover anyhow looked like I ordered a book beyond 600-700/- ...pages quality was good ..ofc the story was gripping but during the beginning I found it bit difficult to visualise it but once you are in flow ..the story gets amazing !!!

Amazing!
Another great AC book! I love how each chapter represents a different perspective, I really like how the characters evolve and meet each other, and the whole Medjay bloodline brotherhood representing the early origins of the creed. My reading is normally kind of slow, especialy reading in english (not my native language), but this one took me just 2 afternoons, so addictive! Thanks for the fun Bowden!
