Perfect charging hub for a tech-heavy household
I purchased this to reduce the number of chargers and cables scattered around my desk and home office, and it has exceeded my expectations. Between our phones, tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, and a few USB-powered gadgets from my homelab, this charging station gets used every single day. The combination of USB-C and USB-A ports is incredibly convenient, and the power output has been more than enough to fast-charge multiple devices at the same time without any noticeable slowdown. I also appreciate the display, which makes it easy to see that everything is working as expected. Build quality is excellent—solid, well-designed, and compact enough to keep the workspace organized. It runs quietly and doesn't get excessively warm even when several ports are in use. If you're a family with lots of electronics or someone who enjoys a clean, organized desk setup, this is a fantastic investment. One device replaced a drawer full of charging bricks, and I couldn't be happier with it. Highly recommended!

Great and reliable charging station
I really like this charging station, works reliably and doesn't seem to get hot. All the ports function and does seem to support about 252W total. I will say I'm not sure if it's fully working properly, but on all four type A connections display on the screen as 5+ in volts even when they are not in use. I mention this because the type C connections display 0 volts when not in use until I start charging something. It does seem to also support super fast charging 3.0 when I plugged in a compatible cable and an S26U. I do wish that it had the option to plug the power cable into a different side instead of only the bottom. It's a minor gripe honestly.

I tried several, this is the winner!
After trying some other options, this is now my primary home charging station. It has the wattage to support fast charging on all the devices I want to change at one time, and my favorite feature is that it shows me what power each device is drawing. That information allows me to know fast charging is happening (to verify the cable supports it, for example), and for devices that don't show a charging status, this display allows me to know that charging is happening and when it's over. All chargers show confusing or even misleading information about the power provided (they add up max power, but you have to look at the fine print to figure out if you can use the ports you want at the same time and get the fast-charging that draws higher power). I returned some that either didn't provide the necessary information, or didn't provide the fast charging that I wanted, even when listed as "800W" or higher. This product essentially divides the ports in half -- the left side and the right side -- so I divide my highest power-drawing devices between the two halves and have never had an issue. I am very happy with this charging station, and I tried several before landing on this one. If it weren't for what seems like constantly evolving charger cord/port designs, I'd buy several of these just in case they stop making them. That's how much I love this charging station!

v2 improves on v1's shortcomings, still needs improvement
This review is specifically for the 8 port, 252W charger with display. Updated review (v2 - 4 stars): Ok, so Sabrent listened and actually updated the firmware to somewhat improve how it handles the display. Physically, the two units appear identical, and packaging is mostly the same. The only difference is the updated version has a newer guide insert that talks about the ability to invert the display. The v2 firmware makes two changes: 1) you can invert the display by double-tapping the button while the screen is on (this is the quickest way to determine if the unit is v1 or v2). 2) it no longer powers off the display after 2 minutes when on the main screen showing all the ports. So... better, but still not great. It still doesn't remember state, meaning every time it loses power it goes back to the default settings (screen off, not inverted). It still takes holding the button for 3 seconds to turn the screen on. You still have to stare at the lovely Sabrent logo for a several seconds every time you turn the screen on. And if you switch to showing detailed information for a specific port, it will revert to the main screen after 2 minutes. It's clear that Sabrent listened to the complaints but didn't actually think through the usage. Biggest improvement would be to simply remember the state and power up using the last settings, but I assume they default to powering up with the screen off for energy usage rating reasons which means that's not likely to change. With that in mind, here is feedback to Sabrent on how I would improve the behavior to be more user friendly. 1) Display the Sabrent logo once, when it is powered on. Even knowing the behavior is to do nothing when first plugged in I expect the screen to do -something- when I plug it in to show that it is receiving power and functional. Showing the logo at power on shows the user that the device is actually receiving power and working and it appeases marketing's desire to show off the glorious logo. 2) Reduce the hold time to turn on the screen. There is little reason for requiring the user to sit there holding a button for 3 seconds simply to turn on a screen aside from "well, we use 3 seconds to turn off the screen, so we'll use that and just toggle the display power". The firmware already knows the screen is off. If the user pressed the button there is no reason not to simply turn on the display. If you want to require holding to prevent accidental turn-on of the display (again, power usage rating), then simply wait for .5-1 second and then take the user to the main screen (NOT that glorious Sabrent logo; that only gets displayed once, at power up). Turning off could also be a 1s hold (keeping the toggle behavior with a far shorter wait time) or 3s hold to make sure it is a deliberate choice. 3) This one is optional: Increase the time the detail port information displays before returning to the main overview screen. 2 minutes isn't bad, and the user -can- still get an idea of what is happening on a port, but if they explicitly went to the detail screen then they probably want to see that information and not have it disappear after 2 minutes. Honestly, I don't know a good value here. 5-10 minutes? Stay there until the user changes screens themselves? There isn't a perfect answer here without making it configurable by the user. That sort of thing -is- possible but would be a far larger lift than simply increasing the timer. Heck, could even leverage double press to stay on the screen. Double click on the main overview==invert display, double click on a port detail screen=stay on this screen (indicator to show revert-to-main timer is disabled and would need to modify state machine to clear that lock when changing to a different port). The goal here is to reduce the friction between the user and the data. Again, ideally it would simply save the current settings (screen on/off, display normal/inverted) and power up with those settings, but since I doubt that is an option the alternative is to reduce the annoyances to a minimum. Sorry (not sorry) marketing, but I don't want to stare at your logo for several seconds every single time I turn on the display. Forcing that delay every single time the screen is turned on (and I have to manually turn it on every time I power it up) simply emphasizes that you don't care about my time as much as you care about shoving your logo in my face. Original review (v1 - 3 stars): The charger functionality works exactly as it is described and I haven't had any problems with it. My issue with the unit is that the charging information display behavior, the keyt reason I bought this specific model, is really, really poorly implemented. While the charging information display appears to be accurate and is helpful, you can only see that information for 2 minutes before the display changes. If it is currently displaying the details of a specific port, after 2 minutes it will revert to informational overview showing all ports. That would be fine, but 2 minutes after displaying the information overview screen it will switch to a dimmed "Sabrent" logo screen to save power. You have to physically press the button to reactivate the information display, at which point you now have 2 more minutes before it reverts to the logo display. I have multiple USB power analyzers and on every single one, except this one, I can simply glance at the display at any time to see the status. If I want to see different information I can press a button to switch what information is displayed, but the key is that the information is ALWAYS displayed. Someone at Sabrent (marketing department?) decided that rather than displaying the charging information, which is the primary reason someone would buy this exact model, they should instead primarily display the Sabrent logo and only show you the information you actually want to see for a short time. Dimming the display is perfectly fine (I think it is a bit dimmer but it is still quite bright), but defaulting to the Sabrent logo is not. There is unexpected operational behavior as well. Considering this unit is specifically designed to show charging information I fully expected to plug it in and the display come on automatically. It doesn't. I actually thought it wasn't working because there is absolutely NO indication that the unit is powered up or working unless you plug in another device to see if it is charging OR hold down the button for a few seconds for the display to finally turn on. And what greets you when it finally turns on? The Sabrent logo, which hangs out for a few seconds before finally showing the charging information display. Ok, fine, maybe it just ships from the factory with the display off. Now that I turned it on it should come on the next time I plug it in, right? Nope! The display will ALWAYS be off when you first plug it in. You will ALWAYS have to hold the button for a few seconds to wake up the display, then stare at the Sabrent logo for a few seconds, before you can finally see what you actually wanted to see. Well, you can see that information for a couple minutes anyway at which point you get to see that lovely Sabrent logo again! Seriously, this is a very good charger that has had its key feature hamstrung with really bad design decisions. Dimming the display after a couple minutes I have absolutely no problem with. Not turning on the display by default when first plugging it in is annoying, as is not remembering the last display state (ON or OFF) when next plugged in, but those are both minor irritations. I don't even mind the fact that I have to stare at the Sabrent logo for a few seconds after turning on the display. What I do mind is that someone decided that the Sabrent logo was so damn important it should ALWAYS be displayed unless you physically press a button to show the information you actually care about, and even then you only get to see that information for a few minutes before you get that fabulous Sabrent logo again!

Great for me but it will COOK.
First, love this thing. I bought it after seeing a YouTuber talk about and seemed my style. I was also interested in mounting it near my desk. I tested by basically asking it to push as hard as I'd ever push it. Charging 2 devices at 100w and a lantern at 20w. It didn't drop speed at all BUT it will cook itself. I'm glad a device finished charging cause I don't think I would push it any longer. The outside is too hot to hold for long but not sure it's a big deal if mounted to the wall. Either way I will likely message support to make sure it's not supposed to limit itself sooner then this but I'm very happy with it so far.

Freaking awesome!
You want one. You want it right now! Eight ports that all have the power to charge things at their max rate. Your older stuff can charge on the A to C ports and your new stuff will charge in record time on the C to C. Multiple devices charge at their max rate simultaneously. The screen lets you see everything so the status is obvious.
