TACHYON GunCam 1080p Sport Shooting Bundle

I was impressed by the online video footage from the Tachyon camera and the features, so I ordered one as a hatcam for competitive shooting. As I was waiting for the camera, I participated in a USPSA match in which some users had different models of hatcams that I had never seen before. These cameras were much smaller than the Tachyon, could record up to 4K video, had wifi connections with cellphones which could be used as viewfinders, and were almost 3 times cheaper than the Tachyon. These are videocameras for RC vehicles and drones, and there are MANY competing models, all with more advanced features (e.g. 4K, 2.7K, 1080p60fps), but smaller, lighter and MUCH cheaper ($65-$80 range) than the Tachyon. And they actually look fantastic as hatcams. So I returned my Tachyon and ordered one of those instead. I did not switch to save money, but rather to get access to more advanced features in a smaller lighter package. Note that the Tachyon is a perfectly fine videocamera for shooting sports. It serves its purpose very well. But it just happens that there are many mini videocameras on the market, which were designed for RC vehicles but can make great hatcams for shooting. Check out the Runcam 2, the Foxeer Legend 2, and the Mobius 2 or even the Mobius Mini. None of those come with gun mounts or hat mounts, but they do come with velcro, which can be used to attach to a hat.

Very light, good quality video.

I was looking to purchase a small hat cam for USPSA competitions to help me with reviewing my individual performance so that I can try to learn from my performance. The picture quality and sound are fantastic and easy to play and view videos. The two features that sold me on this unit versus other products on the market: 1. Size is pretty streamlined, so fits nicely on a baseball cap. 2. It has a auto turn off feature after two(2) minutes so if you forget to turn it off no problem it turns itself off at two minutes. Only have it a month and only used it at three matches but I would recommend this product!

This item appears to be in violation of at least two of ShotKam's patents for gun mounted camera.

I am extremely happy that I purchased this GunCam. Used it yesterday and wow! It's very easy to use and the video/audio quality is the best ever. I was literally surprised how smoothly the video movement transitions were. Called customer service to order a couple additional mounts and was blown away by the genuine happy-to-help-you attitude and personalism that I received. Do NOT hesitate to buy Tachyon products. Its a great little camera so far. Its very compact, it comes with all the gadgets needed for recording while running and shooting, I think is a great tool for Practical shooting training. I already have been able to point out some of the mistakes I make while shooting. If your serious about improving your shooting this is a must. And great service from Raymond at Tachyon Inc.
