The Real Deal - this is the country ham to buy!
I grew up in North Carolina. Moved all over the US for my career, settled in Omaha, Nebraska. There is no country ham within 500 miles of here, so I ordered Ray's to try it out. That first ham biscuit took me right back home - this is full of good old Southern flavor! To those who don't know the difference, country ham is cured with salt and it has a chewier texture than city ham. Slap a couple pieces on a homemade biscuit and you'll never be the same again. Absolutely will buy this again and again, thank you to Ray's for such an outstanding product!

Meet my Country Ham craving
Where I live now I can not purchase country locally. Good salty country ham. Cooked in microwave, pan and oven. Could not get the fat crisp in pan or oven. I think crispy fat, not white floppy fat on my ham slices. Spent time to pull off all the floppy fat. Great on biscuit, along side scrabbled eggs, thrown in a pot of dry beans or green beans. I placed packages in freezer and forced myself to ration these.

Nice sized biscuit pieces. Cooks up tender.
I relocated to the west from the south and missed the occasional country ham biscuit. You can’t find country ham in our area. These are a nice, generous size and cooked up tender if a bit salty. The price is obviously higher than if you purchased at a local store but given I can’t purchase at a local store, I am good with that. Definitely a nice product. Look forward to knowing I can fill a craving.

Good, but it's an acquired taste type product...
What can I say, I wanted to like it. I really tried, I ate all four packs.. Tried a few different recipes, but in the end I concluded that ham preserved in this fashion was an acquired taste built upon repeated exposure to this product or ones like it, but just not for me even after 4 packages.... I gave the product 5 stars because the issue is me...
