I bought this knowing it's bass-heavy, but didn't expect HOW bass heavy. 45-50hz is POWERFUL on this thing, but falls off sharply down to 39hz. With all of that bass however, it can get a bit muddy. It sounds a little hollow for standard talking even with a custom EQ, but that's a fair tradeoff for how bassy this thing is. Speaking of custom EQ, I love how I can customize the xBass boost button to toggle between custom EQs without using the app. The controls are really easy to use, I just wish they painted the buttons. Black icons on black background can be hard to see. I've had no issues connecting my android to this or the app either. It's been very reliable so far. It's size helps a lot with its bass range and volume, but it's a bit large for lugging around. I'm not sure if I would bring this backpacking, but if you're driving to a campsite, it's feasible, but certainly overkill. You'd make your neighbors angry on anything more than 15% power. It really is powerful. All in all, I'm enjoying it.

JBL, Soundcore need to learn how to turn a ship around. You do it by improving the sound quality. Instead of releasing an updated speaker with new hardware and loosing your customer base that just bought one, TRIBIT went back to the lab and tuned the DSP. Alan Ross (Youtube) hit the nail on the head, there was allot of headroom left that they did not tap into and boy did they hit a homerun! Current Lava owners, I hear, are overjoyed over being gifted a GREAT speaker from a good speaker they purchased a year ago with the latest firmware update. I decided to purchase based on this firmware update and review/comparisons. I did not buy one, I bought two. Here is why, they were able to squeeze out two more decibels and tune the DSP to near perfection. I wanted stereo, that this has including party mode (Standard now on most speakers). The wider soundstage you will not get from a single JBL boombox3 or 4, or Soundcore. Yes the bass is not as low, but with the new tuning it comes pretty close and is bass enough for me. If you want the house to shake, and the neighbors to call the cops then this is not your speaker, go buy a 200+ watt party box for $300+ to $500+. If you want clean clear punchy balanced sound for a backyard or small party, where people will ask who makes this and compliment you, this is your speaker, or speakers in my case. I think once the word gets out, stock will dry up, this is my opinion, but this is now the pound for pound champ in the $100 dollar range, that was previously held by the Soundcore Motion+, and this punches way above it's weight class. I hope they do not mess with a good thing and leave this firmware in place for a while, and maybe fingers crossed come out with an inexpensive carrying case. You will not be disappointed, NOW...with the latest update. Thank you TRIBIT, GOOD JOB!!!

Ok, let me start by saying I'm a Tribit fan... As you can see I have multiple of their speakers, as well as the smaller one that clamps on to bicycle handle bars. I had high hopes for this new Lava model... and it does sound good, but not really sure where it fits within the Tribit lineup. I have a few problems/issues with it so far. Depending on how you have the EQ set up, you can bottom out the bass drivers pretty easily. Another issue with this is that compared to Soundbox Pro (rubber handle) it does sound better but not substantially better to justify the size/weight difference....the size is significantly larger and I think the Soundbox Pro is does a better job staying composed and doesn't distort as much as the Lava at higher levels, but again lacks the deeper bass of the Lava. The Pro is by far the more easily transported, and carrying in backpack is way more convenient because of size and weight. The Pro is around $90, and I got the Lava for $90 (but typically it's around $110) during the presale. So not really sure where Tribit intended for the Lava to fit in their lineup. The Blast obviously is used for when you want the loudest, deepest bass, the Pro when you want portable with good sound, the Lava...? I guess, when you want a little more bass than the Pro, but don't mind carrying around a substantially larger and heavier speaker? Remember, with the Lava, you have to be cognizant of your EQ settings because the bass can bottom out easily; I just wish Tribit would have put higher quality bass drivers to handle the deeper/heavier notes, and this would def be 5 stars for me. Overall a good sounding speaker with nice app functionality, which can finely tunenthe speaker's sound in the app, but just need to watch out on the bass frequencies and not set them too high.

Great speaker for the price. Be realistic on capabilities of speakers like this. Full clean sound at modest volume. Great battery. Nice bass boost, but can quickly be garbled if you think you are going to use it as some massive party speaker. Perfect for backyard small cookouts, vacations, hanging out with a few friends. Been very happy with it. It's once again, a portable, easy to bring along, bluetooth speaker, not designed to rattle your house. Be realistic.

The sound on this is amazing the bass goes deep this is a bulky speaker but definitely worth the weight this is my 2nd tribit speaker I have tried the first being the stormblast micro 3 love it I am definitely becoming a fan of tribit

The sound coming out of the speaker sounds very, very, very good. It’s also has nice deep base and seems to last a long time. It’s very light and portable. Tribit did a great job with this one..

So Tribit, we need to talk. I like the design, size, and weight. The price was right buying it during prime days. Now here are a couple gripes.... As another reviewer has said, the feet on its base are pretty narrow, and if you bump into it, it rolls over to easily. Please make them wider on version 2. Now the sound.... Why are you trying to get monster bass out of the small little woofers in this thing? Playing music on it as is out of the box, there is WAAAAAY to much bass to get much midrange detail. This could sound soooo much better by doing the following: Replace the passive radiators on both ends with actual woofers. In the middle of the body, put ONE midrange woofer driver, and ONE tweeter. Yes, that would mean this unit will need to be mono. We are not getting a 'true' stereo image anyway with the woofers literally right next to each other. Yes, you will need to mix (NOT sum) the left and right channels in the DSP chip. Yes, you will need to set 2 up crossovers in the DSP chip, say one at 250hz between the woofers and midrange, and one at 1000hz between the midrange and tweeter. This will require a bigger tweeter to be able to play down a little lower. This will allow you to now have as much bass as someone could ever want out of a speaker this size, AND get midrange and high end detail back into the speaker, with almost no audio 'ducking' issues. GET THE BASS OUT OF THE MIDRANGE DRIVERS PLEASE! Yes, one more amp chip would be needed for the bass woofers. And yes, a slightly bigger battery would help keep the battery life a little longer. So the weight would go up MAYBE one to two pounds, and the price, well i would pay $180 to $200 US for a speaker this size with the changes i listed. I will overlook the fact that the bluetooth caps out with AAC (even though AptX sould be the minimum). I do not goto a movie theater and expect a few 2 way speakers to handle the full audio spectrum effectively. I also do not go to a concert and expect the same. They both use dedicated bass speakers to handle the low end, then the mids and highs are handled seperately. I challenge you to start doing the same with these smaller bluetooth speakers. Heck, my soundbar at home even has a seperate sub to play bass. A nice mid-size speaker that can get fairly loud that has the bass seperate from the midrange is what we want! The ball is in your court.

Ich habe bereits viele Bluetooth-Lautsprecher besessen und verglichen. Dieser hier ist einer der Besten was Leistung in Bezug auf die Größe des Lautsprechers betrifft. Er ist nicht der lauteste, aber kein andere geht so tief im Bass. Lieferung: Der Lautsprecher kommt in einer für Tribit typischen Kartonage mit gelbem Druck. Als Zubehör legt Tribit einen verstellbaren Tragegurt und einen Griff ähnlich dem Bose Soundlink Max bei. Beides ist von recht guter Qualität und wirkt langlebig. Haptik: Der Lautsprecher wirkt sehr gut verarbeitet. Der Stoffbezug ist fest und ausreichend stark, der Gummifuß wirkt haltbar und die Anschlusskappe dürfte gut abdichten. Trotzdem hätte der Gummifuß aus einem geschlossenen Ring gefertigt werden können, dass würde das Risiko das sicher Ring an den Kanten ablöst minimieren. Wasserdichte Anschlüsse an der Rückseite wären in der heutigen Zeit tauglicher als eine Schutzkappe, dass ist aber vermutlich wegen dem Klinkeneingang nicht möglich. Weiters wären die beiden Metallbügel zum Einhängen der Tragehilfe besser nicht dunkel gefärbt. Durch die Reibung der Karabiner wird sich die Beschichtung mit der Zeit ablösen. Und zuletzt wäre es toll, wenn die beiden Seiten nicht aus Hartplastik, sondern aus Silikon/Gummi bestehen würden. All diese Punkte sind aber keine Katastrophe, sondern wären nur von mir gewünschte Änderungen. Das Gewicht ist übrigens mit etwas über 2,2 Kilo relativ hoch, aber noch tragbar. Der Lautsprecher wirkt zudem auf den Fotos etwas kleiner als in Realität. Akku: Gemessen wurden bei einer Vollladung rund 50Wh, es dürfte sich also vermutlich etwa um 45Wh nutzbare Kapazität handeln. Das ist deutlich weniger als eine Xtreme 4 (fast 70Wh) liefert und minimal besser als bei der Boom 2 (38Wh). Klang: Ich bin keine Audiophiler Mensch, ich höre was mir gefällt, so auch bei Lautsprechern. Daher sind meine Eindrücke nur subjektiv und ohne Messung gestützt! Der Lautsprecher kling je nach verwendeten EQ sehr unterschiedlich. Der Standard-EQ ist eher dunkel abgestimmt, was mir nicht so gut gefällt. Stellt man einen flachen EQ ein, dann klingt der Speaker überraschender Weise auch recht flach. Das kann zu Beginn etwas abgestumpft klingen, wenn man einen Badewannen-EQ-Sound gewohnt ist. Aber der Lautsprecher hat ordentlich Reserven in vielen Frequenzbereichen. Vielleicht etwas weniger im Mitten- und oberen Bass-Bereich, aber absolut ausreichend. Der Bass geht wirklich recht tief für die Größe des Lautsprechers, dass geht aber auf Kosten von einem verringerten Bass in mittleren und oberen Frequenzen und den tieferen Mitten. In Summe klingt der Lautsprecher aber sehr gut und lässt sich vermutlich auf nahezu jeden Geschmack mit dem EQ einstellen. Trotzdem hat man immer leicht das Gefühl, dass irgend ein Frequenzbereich etwas zu kurz kommt. Ich konnte das noch nicht mit dem EQ komplett lösen. Ich denke, es ist irgendwo ein Loch im Frequenzbereich, welchen die beiden Treiber nicht komplett abdecken. Das ist aber nicht tragisch, denn der Lautsprecher ist in Summe für mich trotzdem das Beste Gerät in der 2 Kilo-Klasse, vor allem wenn man den Preis bedenkt. Vergleich mit anderen Geräten: Ich habe den Lautsprecher mit einem JBL Xtreme 4, einem Soundcore Boom 2 und dem UBoom X verglichen. Der Vergleich mit der UBoom X habe ich nur deshalb gemacht, weil die angegebene Leistung vergleichbar ist. Mehr ist dazu aber eigentlich nicht zu schreiben, da die UBoom X größer/schwerer ist und dadurch in einer komplett anderen Liga spielt. Mit dem EQ von Oluv ist die UBoom X etwas besser was die Auflösung betrifft. Wenn einem das Gewicht von über 4 Kilo nicht stört, würde ich immer die UBoom X vorziehen. Bass und Lautstärke sind ebenfalls etwas besser als bei der Tribit-Box. Zudem sind die 30€ Aufpreis zur UBoom X nicht die Welt. Im Vergleich zur Xtreme 4 klingt die Stormbox Lava heller, aber weniger Präsent im Upper-Bass und Mittenbereich. Hier kommt es wohl darauf an was einem persönlich zusagt. Mir gefällt die Xtreme 4 deutlich besser, da sie komplette im Klang wirkt. Der Bass der Lava geht etwas tiefer und die Höhen sind nicht so spitz. Es ist nahezu unmöglich die beiden Lautsprecher mit dem EQ so anzupassen, dass beide etwa gleich klingen. Die Stormbox Lava lässt sich außerdem deutlich stärker im Klang durch den EQ verändern als es bei der Xtreme 4 möglich ist. Vorteil der Xtreme 4 ist der tauschbare Akku. Für mich ist die Lava der bessere Lautsprecher, wenn man den Preis betrachtet. Ansonsten kommt es auf die persönliche Vorliebe an. Badewannen-EQ-Liebhaber (welche in den letzten Jahren immer populärer geworden sind) werden mit der Lava glücklicher sein, den kompletteren Sound liefert aber der Xtreme 4. Leider betrachten viele Leute einen vollen Sound mittlerweile als muffig oder dumpf. Am schwierigsten ist für mich der Vergleich zur Soundcore Boom 2. Die Boom 2 ist derzeit mein liebster Spaß-Lautsprecher, da dieser recht leicht ist und für die Größe einen wirklich guten Bassdruck abliefert. Bei der Boom 2 habe ich aber immer das Gefühl, dass der Mittenbereich lückenhaft ist und immer etwas fehlt. Selbst mit dem wirklich guten Oluv-EQs lässt sich das nicht komplett beheben. Zudem hält der Akku auf höherer Lautstärke nicht sehr lange und der Lautsprecher wirkt durch den Plastikgriff billig. Außerdem hat die Boom 2 keinen echten Stereo-Klang, sondern nur zwei Hochtöner aber nur einen Tief/Mitteltöner. Bei der Stormbox Lava ist der Akku etwas besser, der Bass tiefer (bei aber geringerem Druck) und die Haptik deutlich hochwertiger. Die Box klingt zudem auch deutlich breiter mit echtem Stereo. Hier gewinnt die Stormbox Lava in allen Bereichen, außer der Portabilität, dem Bassdruck und vielleicht der Lichtshow (wenn das Jemanden kaufentscheidend ist). Trotzdem bleibt die Boom 2 nach wie vor mein "überallhin"-Lautsprecher wo es nicht auf beste Soundqualität ankommt, da diese doch deutlich leichter und auch kompakter ist als die Stormbox Lava. Zudem erzeugt die Boom 2 bei Leuten immer wieder einen Wow-Effekt wenn man das erste Mal den Bassdruck aus dieser doch recht kleinen Box hört. Bleibt noch zu sagen, dass die Lava und die Boom 2 für mich nicht direkt vergleichbar sind, da die Lava doch um rund 30% schwerer ist und auch ein deutlich höheres Volumen hat als die Boom 2. So ist jeder der beiden Lautsprecher in seiner Klasse für mich das derzeit beste Gerät am Markt wenn man den Preis miteinbezieht. Für den Preis von rund 90€ macht man mit beiden nichts verkehrt! Wer einen möglichst kompletten Sound mit vollen Mitten bevorzugt, würde ich die Xtreme 4 mehr ans Herz legen. Der UVP ist aber massiv überteuert. Im Angebot ist dir Xtreme 4 aber eine Überlegung wert.

Es tan bueno como un JBL de sus mismas prestaciones. Las pruebas que he realizado para clásica sin ecualización dan un 10. Las pruebas de graves escuchando un contrabajo de jazz y un bajo eléctrico son tan realistas que parece tienes a los músicos contigo en la habitación, como si fuera un concierto en vivo. Si usas la aplicación con el preset de clásica es mejor aún el resultado aunque depende de la grabacion, en unas mejor que en otras. Es alucinante la calidad y resultado. La mejor compra de audio que he hecho nunca, me atrevo a decir que mejor que con un súper equipo hi-fi. Para otros estilos, usando los preset de la aplicación mejora mucho la escucha. Muy recomendable.
