HDMI to RCA
Worked well .... AFTER I supplied my own USB power charger. The charging cord is permamently attached to the signal converter.

Works great!
I purchased so I could connect my Roku streaming device to my DVD recorder. Works great. Even if only a 480p picture, really happy with the quality and the ability to create DVD's of programs I haven't seen in years!

A Great Find to Solve My Problem.
If the 2nd unit receiving the signal from your primary unit does not have a HDMI (In) plug, this is the way to go. But remember by so doing the quality of audio/video would be compromised. Still a great find nevertheless.

Record TV to Vintage VHS or DVD
I purchased this product because I have a "no frills" package through my cable TV provider in that I do not have a DVR. I plugged the HDMI cable into my TV box (supplied by the cable company) and I plugged the USB cable into the back of the TV box in order to supply the necessary voltage to the device. I then plugged in my RCA cables respectively into the "Video and Audio input jacks" to direct the signal directly into the VCR/DVD recorders. I already had an HDMI cable output on the back of the unit going into a secondary input HDMI port on the TV. All I need to do is to turn on the VCR/DVD player and then redirect the source of the signal for the TV to the secondary HDMI and I then have a clear picture of whatever channel I have selected using my remote control for the TV box. I can now record directly to VHS or DVD discs since the unit is a DVD recorder as well. I started with a test recording to a new VHS tape. The signal started a little scrambled for about ten seconds but then the VCR/DVD recorder filters straightened out the signal so I had a clear picture on the recorded tape. I can also take the VHS tape and burn the output of the tape to a DVD as well. For the purpose in which I was hoping to acheive, this item worked extremely well. I know most people do not even own a VHS/ VCR unit any longer but I bought this one because I still have over 600 VHS tapes and there are some I made with the family camcorder way back in the latter 80's - early 90's that I still want to transfer to DVD. If you are older techies individual who has some of this older machinery, then maybe this can work for you as well as I explained it here.

Great results for the money
works perfectly. Even tough I am using RCA inputs, the picture is very near HD. I strongly recommend this item!

Could be better
Generally, very pleased with device. I only there was a way to make picture a little brighter on TV as compared to computer image. Adjusting TV image doesn't work as picture remains same on multiple devices,

Works great with the Roku stick and car TV system
Needed something that would connect to the AV side of the DVD player in the car. With the HDMI I had to change to that input and it is easy to turn the DVD player on in AV mode automatically. With a 2 year old it’s easier to be able to turn on the DVD player and have it in the right input. So now Roku comes right up on the screen and can play connect to the Roku through my phone to play her videos.

HDMI input to my older TV the from DirecTV satellite box stopped working. This fixed it.
My 2002 46" LCD Samsung TV was getting a great HDMI signal from my Genie DirecTV satellite box for years. Then for some reason I got a message on the TV screen, after about 5 seconds of a good picture, that my HDMI TV input did not provide protection for the DirecTV signal input and that I should replace the HDMI cable to my TV with a component PC cable. I connected a newer LED TV to the satellite box and it worked great so the problem was not the DirecTV genie satellite box. So I bought this product. The 5 volt USB cable plugged into the back of the genie DirecTV box, the HDMI cable plugged into the back of the genie DirecTV box and the red, white and yellow cables plugged into my AV1 TV input jacks. Fixed the problem! The picture quality is not as good as with the1080 HDMI input but it is good enough. Without this device my older TV would be useless.
