Read this... and buy the MantisTol
Bottom line: Buy this thing. I recently installed approximately 1300sqft of flooring. I tormented way too long on weather I should invest in a cutter or not. And if so, which model should I get??? I'm an over-analyzer and a strong believer that the more expensive item is always the best. In this case, for what I was trying to accomplish, this thing was perfect. Why get a cutter?? It makes the install SOOO much faster and easier. Not to mention... very little dust!! You can drag it around from room to room and not have to continue to run outside for every straight cut you make. Sure a chop saw would work great as well... but make sure you have one that will cover the width of your plank or now your making two cuts for every one. And did I mention the dust??? I used the cutter for all of my straight cuts, a jigsaw for the notches and a circular saw for the rips. The bad reviews... I read them all. "It's too light and flimsy." No, this model is not "Pro" grade. It's not meant for someone who installs flooring for a living. But it did my job perfectly fine. It started out cutting the 10mm planks like butter. By the end of the job I could tell that I may want to run a stone on the blade. (which is included) But it still finished the job strong. I believe that there are also replacement blades available. But for the price and the results, it would have been fine even if it was disposable. "It's cheaply made." - No, it's just not made out of steel. But do you really want to pay that shipping?!?! It's made out of some sort of aluminum which is light and plenty strong. If I had told you that it was a super light weight, rocket ship alloy developed by NASA, then you would have spent 3 times the price and not batted an eye. I'm sure the more expensive ones are heavier, but stop...you're on Amazon reviewing a tool for a job you're about to donate a few Saturdays for. Just buy it already. "The guide was too short for tinny pieces" - Yeah, this was annoying for 3 cuts out of the 1300sqft - 4 rooms, 2 closets, 2 hallways, and a lobby. I just used a speed square to hold the tinny piece square. You can also lock into another longer piece to help you out. Thats what us DIYers do... we figure $h!t out. "It was impossible to put together." - For the love of all that is holy... if you can't put this thing together then please step away from The MantisTol and all tools powered. Run to your nearest search engine and find a pro. This job is not for you!! I found that it assembled quite easily... I didn't even read the instructions. I was also blind folded and an alligator was trying to steal my wallet. In summary, this thing did the job at a great price.

Game changer! Solid tool
Total game changer for installing your own floor! This is a solid well built tool that performed even better than I thought. I installed Lifeproof LVP which is thick and this cut perfectly! Installed in half that time without the mess from cutting with a saw. Well worth every penny. The right tool makes the job possible.

Great tool for DIY. Cuts only sides of the floor to size NOT FOR Length cut.
I recently embarked on my first DIY laminate floor installation adventure, and I must say that the MANTISTOL MC-330 13'' Pro Laminate Floor Cutter with Installation Kit was an absolute game-changer. I had some initial nerves about tackling the flooring material, especially when it came to cutting it, but this tool worked like a charm and left me pleasantly surprised. One of the standout features of this floor cutter is the incredibly smooth cuts it produces. Even though it required a bit of pressure, it effortlessly sliced through 12 MM laminate flooring, leaving clean and precise edges. The satisfaction of achieving such polished results on my very first DIY flooring project was priceless. However, I did encounter a minor limitation with this tool โ it's primarily designed for making cuts along the sides of the floor, and not along the length. This meant that for long cuts, I had to resort to using a jigsaw. It would be fantastic if the design could be improved to accommodate both sides of the floor, making it a truly all-in-one solution for laminate flooring installation. In spite of this minor setback, I found the MANTISTOL MC-330 13'' Pro Laminate Floor Cutter to be a reliable and efficient tool for my project. It saved me a significant amount of time and effort when it came to making those side cuts, and the installation kit was a convenient bonus. In conclusion, if you're looking for a tool that excels in providing clean and precise cuts for laminate flooring, the MANTISTOL MC-330 is an excellent choice. While it may have a small limitation in terms of cut direction, it's a small trade-off for the convenience and quality it brings to your DIY flooring project. I'm extremely pleased with the results and would recommend it to anyone looking to make their laminate floor installation a breeze.

Makes flooring projects so much easier!
This laminate floor cutter was a game-changer for my DIY flooring project. Itโs sturdy, easy to use, and makes clean, precise cuts without the mess and noise of a power saw. I was able to cut through laminate planks smoothly โ even at angles โ with minimal effort. What I really appreciate is that thereโs no dust, no need for electricity, and itโs quiet enough to use indoors without disturbing the whole house. The cutter feels solid and well-built, and it stayed sharp through the entire job. If youโre tackling a flooring project, this tool is absolutely worth it. It saved me so much time and hassle โ highly recommend!

Saved TON of time
The best tool $100 can buy. Save me so much time! Don't have to deal with the saw dust and you can cut it indoors. I was cutting 13mm Pergo laminate flooring. The cuts are clean, just don't try doing it fast. Slow and smooth cuts. Went through about 30 boxes by now and the blade is still going strong. Highly recommend. As far as the angle cuts, I did not use that option. Used table saw for precision cuts. Highly recommend.

Lifesaver for DIYers
I took on the project of replacing the floors in my entire 1900 sq ft house alone. After one room and part of a hall, I realized I needed help. Everyone says a sharp knife will cut LVP but I was left going over the same line several times and still getting jagged lines. This device is a lifesaver. It was easy to set up and has doubled the speed I can lay flooring.

Great cutter for DIY flooring projects
Bought this on a whim before installing lvp in my kitchen/dining room, and I am glad I did. Highly recommend for a homeowner/DIY user. Low dust, cuts straight and clean, cuts easy even with thick lvp flooring. Saved a lot of time over using a saw for starting/end pieces and angles. It is not a professional cutter by any means, but has held up great doing a 300sq foot floor and being moved/drug around quite often. Will be gladly using it again soon to finish flooring the rest of my house. Minor assembly required before use, instructions are a little vague but easy to figure out with pictures. It will not rip full planks as it is only 13โ wide but thats not what it is intended for. Was worth the price in my opinion. The tapper and pull bar seem to be on the lighter duty side, but a nice addition. found myself using the pull bar more often than my heavier duty one (purchased separate) due to being thinner and easier to use around my cabinetry. Recommend the purchase if you have a decent size flooring project to tackle.

Super Laminatschneider

excellent if you are renovating floor (5mm) as DIY for own home once. not if professional.
Summary: Wonderful product if you want to install your own floors to save money, easy to use and assemble, no experience needed for cutting floors. not perfect, but gets the job done. Blade: we had no issues with this falling out, not even after we did all our floors ease of use: It's alright, it cut the old flooring up easily, which was even thinner and weaker than our new floor. The thicker, studier floors will take a bit more effort, but it will come off with a bit more force downwards. You will get tired if there is a lot to cut, so best if you have a few people going round depending on how much floor needs cutting. weight of machine: It's alright, bit heavy, but what you'd expect for renovation equipment. I'd say most people shouldn't have much issue handling this if you picked a few good locations and planned for where it sits so there is minimum moving around, the weight shouldn't bother you much. Any damage to underneath surface while in use: A bit, depending on what it's sat on and what floor you're cutting. Some of the thicker floors need more force to cut. that force makes the machine as a whole move downwards. If the surface it's on is too soft, it will leave dents behind. So plan accordingly. cuts in straight lines: Yes, all our floor is cut perfectly and all line up when building them together with no issue at all. It may not be perfect underneath, but you won't see that anyways. This is granted our flooring is all straight pieces, so it lines up perfectly with the ruler provided. does it work as a stand alone product to cut all flooring needs: unlikely. Unless the floor is installed into a room with no odd corners or bends, you will need some other cutting tools to cut those odd shapes out. I would recommend a cheap jig saw to go along with this purchase. But this product isn't useless as it will still save you a lot of time and sanity. As it 100% cuts straight with the in-built ruler. then jig-saw the long edges which you can hide the imperfections with various trims and skirting boards. Who should buy this: In my opinion, while this machine is great, professionals who have jig-saws or circular saws and rulers for floor cutting, they would find this machine bulky, clunky, heavy and useless. but this is definitely for someone out there. If the below list applies to you, this may be the perfect option to get compared to many others. Otherwise, You may be disappointed in the product. 1. The floors you want to install are relatively thin. apparently other reviews state anything above 12mm won't work. 5mm does work for sure. 2. You are a beginner and don't have a lot of tools. And you don't plan to buy many tools in the future. 3. you want to save money instead of hiring an expensive workmen to build and cut your floor. this is especially true if you have click flooring/glued on flooring which is relatively easy to install. 4. you plan on installing your own floor in a simple straight pattern. If you want anything fancy, you're more likely to screw up cutting in angles and wasting more money on extra floor panels. Just hire a contractor at that point. 5. you plan to do flooring once, then get rid of this machine afterwards. since it did it's job of saving money in contractor fees already. The machine is bulky to store otherwise and the blade it comes with really only last long enough for 1 job. 6. you have at least 2 rooms worth of floors to fit. Otherwise, a cheap machine saw will be more worth your money as the overall cost would be lower at the expense of time and a little sanity to cut straight lines. The last one thing I want to mention is this machine has one more use that may led you to buying this outside of floor installation. destruction and disposal. If you, for whatever reason, need to break down your old floors or anything in the shape of long boards that work with this machine, is lazy/have no tools for the job/need it done quickly. Such as reasons like, to fit them into whatever trash disposal system you need it to so it saves you money. This works wonders. Do a calculation, it just might save you money overall.
