Need a minimum of 2-3 sets to make a loop. The train we have is quite big so smaller trains are better for going through the corners. Great value though and fun to make LEGO trains. Son loves them.

These are great LEGO train tracks. If you've been on the market for LEGO train tracks, you know these aren't cheap. Full disclosure, I'm a LEGO purist, which means I almost always only buy LEGO brand and refuse to purchase non-LEGO knock-off brands. This set of LEGO train tracks is very similar to the latest set of LEGO train tracks, which at the time of writing this review, are still on the market (set 7499, LEGO City Flexible Tracks 7499 Train Toy Accessory ). The only difference between this set (60205) and the 7499 set for sale is that you get 4 curved-tracks and not as many of the flexible track pieces. Otherwise, both these sets are very similar. Having said all that... I want this review to be helpful and honest, therefore, I'm going to share an alternative. So, if you're looking for very similar non-LEGO train tracks that look almost identical, come with more straight tracks (which are always in demand), and cost far less, then I would recommend checking out the tracks sold by Sprite World which you can purchase via Amazon: 18X Straight Trains Rail Non-Powered Rail Compatible for Major Brands Train Tracks Track Railroad Construction Toy OR 24X Train Tracks Non-Powered City Railroad Compatible With Major Brands Building Block Toy Gifts . If you notice in my pictures, I've put the LEGO brand on the left and the non-LEGO brand on the right. As you'll see, they look almost identical. Additionally, I've got both LEGO brand and non-LEGO brand connected in my LEGO city for my train and they work flawlessly together. The only slight issue I've found with the non-LEGO brand tracks is that they sometimes don't fit on the LEGO brand baseplates. In other words, if you're not looking to lock the non-LEGO brand train tracks onto a LEGO baseplate, then you don't have to worry. This is really a very minor issue when you consider how well the non-LEGO brand tracks function. In closing, these train tracks are great and they are excellent LEGO quality. If your budget allows you to purchase all LEGO brand, then by all means, stick with all LEGO. If you're looking to create a long and lengthy train track and you're working with a limited budget, I've found it much more manageable by purchasing the above-mentioned non-LEGO brand tracks. These are just what I needed to expand my LEGO train layout. Should work great with any of the LEGO train sets available, and even the discontinued sets. And the price is pretty good here on Amazon.

Extra tracks for Lego trains

Honestly a lot of fun to build and run. Looks sharp. Works well on the tracks and you can get extra. The only complaint is that built, you can’t pick up the engine by grasping the top or the whole section with the battery pops off. Had some frustration with my kiddo but now we just pick it up from the back. Good size piece too.

I've compared the name brand Lego train tracks to the off brand ones and these are clearly better made, the plastic edges are finished smoothly and the connections work very well. The only downside to these is the price, but if you can get them 20% off which they frequently will go on sale for its not too bad. Note that this set is not enough pieces to make a full loop you need to buy at least 3 packs of this to make a full loop.

Can never go wrong with Lego brand. Great quality and easy for kids to assemble and disassemble own track configurations. Wish Lego made different track pieces other than this one and the switch track.
