Review: Best resource to prepare for coding Interviews - This book truly stands out as a resource when it comes to interview preparation. It focuses on teaching essential coding patterns—equipping you with strategies that can be applied across a variety of problems rather than simply providing solutions without understanding patterns. The book offers a well-organized guide to mastering the core patterns that are vital for technical interviews. Backed by data from interviewing.io, its advice is evidence-based and practical, ensuring you receive reliable, actionable insights rather than random tips for outreaching and job search. Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone serious about elevating their coding skills. Its clear, methodical approach not only prepares you for interviews but also provides you valuable insider advices. Highly recommended. Review: I am a strong mid (soon Senior) SWE at one of the biggest companies. 2 years ago, I cleared Box 5 rounds twice and Affirm 5 rounds once and others. I have bought the EPI book and AlgoExpert to practice algorithms. But this book is a hidden and underrated gem. I used to solve problems blindly before. After this book now I can solve problems knowingly and recognise patterns. Before, I thought some topics were easy and difficult, but after this book, the difficult ones became easy, and easy ones turned out to be tricky and bigger topics so that means I used to solve them without realizing these and now I am full aware of what I am doing. I bought the book on 12 August 2025 and I planned to finish it by spring 2026, but I finished it around a week ago. Pros of the book: 1. The topics is ordered step by step, unlike other resources that throw questions in random order at you (they think if it is easy, you can solve all in any order) 2. crazy recipes that you can use in solving problems like binary search, sliding windows (min, max and fixed length) before I had problems with pointers, which value in which pointer, but after these recipes, I have full control of the values, pointers. And every time I saw a new recipe, I was like "Wow" 3. AI interviewer platform where you practice the problems. The best thing is that I have talked with AI and leveled up my Big O notation analysis on another level, which you cannot find the best place to practice and most people neglect Big O practice and fail in interviews because of that. 4. The authors have Discord channels, and they are responsive. Come on, I mean, who does it now? Now people sell books and that's it. Thanks for the authors who put tremendous effort into this. I guess we are the last generation practicing and learning something by heart and with effort. Good luck for everyone

If you're interviewing for Senior Engineer roles at competitive tech companies, this book is a must-have. What sets it apart is the "reusable ideas" marks throughout. Instead of just giving you solutions to memorize, it teaches you the underlying patterns you can apply to new problems. That's exactly what senior interviews test for - your ability to recognize patterns and adapt them. The sections on negotiation and how you're evaluated are particularly valuable. Most interview prep books skip this entirely, but understanding what interviewers are actually looking for and how to negotiate your offer can literally be worth tens of thousands of dollars. The online resources that come with it are solid additions. Bottom line: Get this book if you're serious about landing a senior role. The investment pays for itself if it helps you nail even one interview.

Absolutely required reading after the excellent 'Cracking the Coding Interview, 6th Edition' from the same awesome author and mentor Gayle Laakmann McDowell.

Disclaimer: I haven't finished reading the book just yet. Problem solving thinking, intuitions and approaches to tackle coding interviews with a fresh look at the current state of tech interviews is what this book promised and it has delivered so far. Really grateful on this new revision of the book.
