LG GP65NG60 - optical disc drives (15 - 85%, Desktop/Notebook, DVD Super Multi DL, Gold, Tray, USB 2.0)

Does everything it advertises with zero problems. I mostly just use it for watching DVDs on a laptop so haven't tried to burn any disks with it. It works great, it's slim and even though it's plastic it doesn't feel cheap or delicate - it's had some rough transit a couple of times in backpacks and it's held up no problem. Overall a great product, I paid £38 and purchased another one for a family member as a gift, theirs has worked just as well. Highly recommend

Must have for modern laptops that no longer have DVD drives.

I normally never write reviews for products on Amazon, but felt I needed to write one for this DVD drive as it’s simply excellent. After searching online for a while I found this LG drive. I was worried about the performance of such drives with Macs, as a lot of them seem to struggle with the OS. As soon as I mounted this DVD drive into my Mac, the native DVD Player Application opened and began playing the DVD instantly. No issues, no concerns. You can change the region of the DVD player 5 times, which is another handy function to have. Another great quality is the silent running of the drive, it’s amazingly quiet. If you have a Mac and want an affordable, no messing DVD drive, this one is hard to beat.

Difficult to review a product of this nature. It either works, or it doesn't. This unit works well. Was easy to set up, and plays my CDs satisfactorily. Can't ask for any more.

Great product have used to play and burn dvds on my laptop of holiday snaps a lot easier than carrying your laptop or thumb drive around, just drop into the dvd player and watch it on your tv

Bought this model to put my music collection on the Minimac. believing it would be better quality. It is very flimsy and the disc carrier part of the unit is almost non-existent a bare skeleton. It does do what it says but not worth the extra cost.

Bought to work with Apple M4 Mini and 2015 Macbook the most important job it needs to is as a dvd player for movies. I don't mind how long it takes to write files or anything else as long as it worked with both as a r/w and for movies. Other units I tried were so noisy watching movies that the noise was a significant distraction. So I bought this LG because it had the strongest reviews for being a quiet dvd player for movies. I am pleased with it, it is quieter than the others I tried.
