This is the keyboard you are looking for
I am a professional software engineer and computer enthusiast. I have used no fewer than a half dozen mechanical keyboards as my daily driver over the past few years, from brands like Corsair, Asus ROG, Logitech, and Lofree. This one is by far and away the best keyboard I have ever tried. I do not write product reviews very often, but it feels so good to type on this that I just wanted an excuse to use it more. This is the only keyboard I have ever encountered that does not leave me wanting for more features. I use and develop software on both Mac and Windows PC machines, so having a built-in switch to toggle between these different platforms is a game changer. The option to connect it via 2.4GHz adapter, Bluetooth, and directly via USB-C cable makes it incredibly versatile. I really appreciate the Bluetooth connectivity in particular, as it is surprisingly low latency and makes it super easy to switch between up to three connected devices in roughly a second (which is very useful when working on multiple machines simultaneously). The ability to fully customize the keyboard on the web is another huge perk. I have found that the Keychron launcher website is fairly intuitive and works well, and I am very pleased that I do not have to download another piece of software in order to get the most out of this keyboard. Though you can only configure the settings via the web interface when the keyboard is connected via USB-C cable, the settings get flashed to the board's internal persistent storage, so all of your settings (such as remapped keys and custom RGB profiles) still work when in Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz mode. But maybe most importantly is that from a pure aesthetic and feel standpoint, it looks, feels, and sounds awesome. The RGB lighting is subtle enough to not be too distracting for a workplace but vivid enough to add a cool accent. It is also very usable with the RGB backlight turned off, as it is not needed for readability. And I cannot emphasize enough just how good the feel is. I would say that the magnetic switches on this board respond most comparable to linear (red) switches from other manufacturers (which are my personal favorite kind) but with slightly more resistance that makes accidentally triggering keys less frequent. I find that I genuinely make fewer typos on this board compared to some of the other products I have tried. Controlling the key actuation depth is a really cool bonus feature, but I honestly find the default setting to be perfect. If I could find anything negative to say about this keyboard, it would be that the battery life is only ok. While some of the other keyboards I have tried have batteries that can last for more than a full work week of use, I find this one drains fairly quickly. It's enough to get me through about two day's worth of work before I have to plug it back in, but given that it is still fully usable in wired mode, I honestly don't find this to be too big of a deal. Otherwise, the list of cons pretty much ends there. Simply put, for $140, this board is an incredible value. It takes a really special product for me to take the time and write out a review, but this board is just that good. EDIT: I initially had some reservations about the battery life on this keyboard. In day to day experience, however, that has never been an issue. I find that the board lasts for quite a long time, even compared to some of the other models I’ve used in the past. So yeah, add that to the list of things this board has going for it.

Excellent Hall Effect Keyboard – Smooth and Precise
I’m very happy with the Keychron H2 HE. The Hall Effect switches feel incredibly smooth and precise, making it great for both gaming and typing. Adjustable actuation works perfectly and really makes a difference in fast-paced games. Build quality is solid, the keyboard feels sturdy, and the typing experience is consistent and comfortable. Latency is excellent, and everything feels responsive and accurate. Overall, it’s an outstanding keyboard if you’re looking for Hall Effect technology, customization, and top-tier performance. Highly recommended.

This isn’t just a keyboard—it’s an experience. And now I’m typing like royalty.
I think I might be in love—with a keyboard. The Keychron K2 HE is just that good. From the moment I unboxed it, I knew this wasn’t your average typing tool. It’s perfectly weighted—not so light it slides around like a nervous chihuahua, and not so heavy it feels like it needs its own gym membership. It’s solid, stable, and a joy to use. Typing on it? Absolute bliss. Each keystroke delivers a smooth, rich “thock”—like tapping little velvet pillows that somehow boost productivity. It’s quiet enough for shared spaces, but still gives that satisfying tactile feedback that reminds you: yes, you are better than membrane keyboards. Aesthetically? Stunning. Sleek design, tasteful wood accents, and a look that says “I read Wired and have good taste.” The wireless connection is rock-solid—Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz—and the battery lasts so long I started forgetting it even has a battery. Customization is next-level. Adjustable actuation and dual-function keys make it feel like the keyboard was custom-made for me. And here's the kicker: I loved it so much, I went out and bought the Keychron K4 HE QMK Wireless Gaming Custom Mechanical Keyboard too. Because when something this good exists in a bigger size, you upgrade your obsession.

Best Keyboard I've Ever Owned
Absolutely love this keyboard. I was quite hesitant about spending this much on any keyboard, but I can honestly say, it's worth every penny. The keys have a great feedback without being loud and clacky. More of a soft thunk sound, like a gasket keyboard. It feels extremely solid, well made, high quality, and looks beautiful with the wood accents. The Windows keys were easy to swap out. Love that I can get replacement keys, switches, and that the keyboard is generally repairable. I use it in usb cord mode so I can wake my laptop from sleep mode (which I keep folded).. so I can't speak to the Bluetooth connectivity or 2.4 wireless modes, but I'd be shocked if there were any issues there. There's a ton of LED color options, but I just keep it on a low key setting - not into the gamer flashing rainbow swirls thing. But the LEDs are highly customizable, I think there are about 20 different modes, and the brightness and hue can be adjusted.

Phenomenal Keyboard WITH EXCEPTIONS
Aesthetics: Absolutely beautiful keyboard. The wood accents are such a nice touch and really make this keyboard stand out. LEDs: I think all modern keyboards have good RGB lighting/effects, and this one is no exception. The only downside is that the keycaps are NOT shine-through 😭. Honestly, it's not the biggest deal. I turned off the LEDS and now the battery lasts forever. Also, if you hold 'fn +B', it lights up the number keys to indicate the battery percentage. Super cool). Switches: This one is subjective, of course. The default keys feel good overall, and I get compliments on the sound it makes. I even got one over a Discord call 😂. For me, the switches feel a bit hard to press, so I replaced them with the DAWN version of the Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Switch. I expected it to be quite a bit softer, but unfortunately, I barely noticed a difference. Please DO NOT waste your money on them. They're also hard to find (sold out almost everywhere). Connection: 2.4GHz and wired both work fine. I didn't notice any latency issues with wireless, the only way I've been using this keyboard. I'm also a huge gamer (FPS, RPGs, etc). Build/Size: Solid build overall. It has a nice and heavy weight to it (not good for portability). Key caps and switches are easily removable (comes with the tool). Software: I haven't used it much besides changing the travel distance of the magnetic switches. The only (minimal) downside is that the keyboard must be plugged in to update the configuration. Overall, I highly recommend this keyboard (even with the two issues I mentioned).

Great keyboard, especially considering the price
This is a great looking, versatile keyboard with a fantastic typing experience, especially considering the $140 price. The hall effect configurator is great for fine tuning the switch response. I personally want a very responsive light-touch keyboard, my wife wants a keyboard with low false presses and a really deep response, and this way we can both have it the way we want. I really like the OSA profile keycaps - I find them good looking and comfortable. The keyboard has a great thock. It looks very professional and classy. Overall I think it's a really great keyboard and I don't see myself upgrading or replacing this keyboard in the next decade. Drawbacks: - Only comes with the Nebula switches. I replaced all the switches in mine with lighter touch Dawn switches which cost an extra $36. - North facing LEDs. Generally you want north facing LEDs for shine-through keycaps to make the letters more visible, and south facing LEDs for non-shine-through keycaps to make the LEDs more visible. The K2 HE SE has non-shine-through keycaps and it's harder to see the LEDs. It is really hard to tell when you have the caps lock on. - The software is mediocre. It works decently through the web configurator but I wish there were more options, like better lighting and more key presets. The open-source software is a huge pain to work with. If the software was easier to work with I would have fixed these issues myself.

Best HE Keyboard!!!
This is one of the best keyboards that I have ever owned. It is quick and responsive, with a lot of extra customization options thanks to the Keychron software. I have the white version with the wood accents, and it is by far the classiest keyboard that I have ever owned. I prefer to use the board with the RGB set to white as any other color does not seem to fit the aesthetic of the board. On that note the keyboard does not have vibrant RGB, so if that is something you are looking for then I would look at other boards. When I tested the 2.4 G connection of the keyboard it worked perfectly with no lag, however I primarily use the board wired so I am not sure how good the battery life is, or how well the keyboard is at waking from sleep. I have used the software to customize the keyboard a bit and I love that it is web-based software and therefore does not require me to download any software to my PC. Being a hall effect keyboard means that you can set the actuation points for all of the keys individually and set up rapid trigger for keys that you want to press very quickly. This is very useful depending on what game you are playing. I personally set all the keys to 1.0 so the keyboard would be consistent and snappy for both gaming and typing. Lastly, the keyboard is built extremely well and offers a very satisfying typing experience. I can easily recommend this board to anyone wanting a classy keyboard, or someone who wants to try out hall effect without breaking the bank.

Best Mid Level Keyboard for competitive play
Works better than you think! Pros: -Smooth typing experience (thocky) -Easy to use browser software with multiple customization options -Very accurate actuation adjustments (perfect for games like CS2 or Valorant) -Beautiful design with wood accents -Compact -Wireless options works beautifully Cons: -Compact button designs so watch out for mistypes on the F1 keys -Connects via USB on the side (Kinda awkward if you use coil wires) Overall better than my Razor pro TKL with the sound to the feel. Waaayyyyy better buy! You will not regret it.
