Gramophone sounds like Integrity!
I was reading a review on a Shanling CD player and what caught my interests was the reviewer's comment that his Sennheiser HD 800 S sounded really good withe this product. By the sheer weight of the Shanling ET3, I realized that I had purchased the wrong product. But this company has been extremely gracious in the past, that I purposefully chose Gramaphone for this purchase. Unlike so many stores that are selling audiophile grade products, Gramaphone does not take any short cuts to save moeny. I have found them to be a company with integrity and takes pride in their products.

Well made CD transport.
This is what you need for detail. I run mine 24 hours a day. So far it has worked flawlessly. I added a 2 oz coin hot glued to the lid for easier pick up with my fingers. I have been using the Audioquest Vodka optical and I am using the aes/ebu port for long distance connection. It also has USB. and wifi etc. I just spin. And this works.

Great transport
Fantastic sounding cd transport. Using the I2s output into an outboard dac with I2s input and it sounds fantastic. Upsampling feature really works and makes music sound better. Highly recommend.

Unit quality and i2s play back exceptional

No sound output
Mine arrived and could produce no sound from CD no matter the output used. Tried with 3 DACs, Cd played but no sound from coax, usb or optical. Sent back. Also felt a bit plasticky in build.

Superb soundstage but a wanting remote
This transport is so revealing and lovely. Soundstage and instrument spacing immaculate. I have a hybrid system with 1963 McIntosh MC225/C20 and Audire Forte running through 1985 Klipschorns and new Magnepan 1.7xs. The sound is sublime. The first ET3 was a demo and lasted all of 2 weeks. The 2nd is new and sounds as good as the first. I just can’t listen to cds without it. It is that good. Get it! You won’t be disappointed. Or you could spend $3k more for a similar experience. Decide for yourself. Oh-and the remote lacks numbers, so push away for your own excitement. That part really sucks, but the sound is angelic through my NOS 7308 vacuum tube British built ANK 2.1 DAC, so I make allowances.

Great CD deck
This is an excellent cd deck to feed into a DAC. There a few limitations with the applications but overall the build quality is superb and the sound quality is better than anything I've listened to in the past. Use requires supplied remote. I've used both optical and USB connections both work just as well. Would buy again.

As a CD Transport into my Naim Uniti Atom HE this is a fantastic device. Playback is controlled and engaging without any trace of ‘digititis’. The Eddict app is absolutely appalling and after multiple attempts I cannot connect to my WiFi (all of my other kit connects seamlessly). I can’t comment on any of the other features but I was only really interested in using this for Red Book playback over Toslink and it’s very close to the quality of my Audiolab 9000CDT.

I wanted a half width CD transport to use on a desktop based system and this was one of the obvious options to try. After reading the reviews and watching the videos I decided that it was worth a punt - the fact that it is sold through a UK importer rather than directly from China also made me more comfortable about dealing with any problems. To start with the bad, the first transport I ordered stopped recognising CDs within the first couple of days, so I repackaged it and returned it to Amazon, but that can happen with anything and I got a refund no problem. The second example has been great. I have it feeding an RME ADI-2 DAC over coax cable (remember that this has no analogue outputs, so you require a DAC or digital inputs into your amp). It is proving to be a first rate digital source. The sound is excellent, far better than the raspberry pi-based streamer I use, giving a greater sense of scale and soundstage. There is a real feeling of depth to the music as well, with different sounds placed further away or closer to the listener. If you're after a good quality CD transport I would recommend considering this. But be aware what it is - it won't rip CDs to your computer and its network/hard drive streaming function is a bonus, not what it is primarily designed to do and that leads to the usual online whining and requests for firmware updates to have it make your morning coffee for you and other unattainable things

Sound quality is fantastic paired with Chord Qutest, good value for money, attractive compact size, top loading is one less mechanical part to fail. The included streaming functionality is a nice extra. I have not used MQA CDs and do not use DSD output / upscaling, but good to know they are options. USB DAC output is nice, but unfortunately the highest bitrates are only supported over I2S and AES. Some firmware/UI/UX details stopped this being 5 star. - the remote feels cheap compared to the rest of the player. - the on player buttons do not feel as premium as the rest of the player. - the option dial is used to power on/off, long press the dial to power on is not tactile enough and often takes multiple attempts. - upon inserting a CD you have to wait several seconds for the disk to scan before pressing play or it will not start playing, no other player I have used has such a delay. - no gapless streaming playback. - the circular display is a gimmick and not treated as circular by the UI, cover art is poorly cropped, the display is too bright even on lowest setting, all icons are low quality and cheap looking (why does a vinyl record spin when playing CDs??)
