These are much more comfortable than the headphones that are like rubber stoppers that you jam into your ears. In low noise environments, they work very well with plenty good sound. If I'm working with power tools, I just wear them under industrial hearing protection ear muffs-- this allows keeping the volume low (non-damaging to hearing), while still hearing the content fine even standing next to a running air compressor. But, these are not good for loud environments without the hearing protection muffs, like walking next to a street, as you would need to turn up the volume to unsafe levels to hear the content over the traffic noise-- but not being able to use these in some noisy environments is worth it, to me, for the extra comfort these provide over the rubber plug style headphones.I used to buy these at Target, and was really happy to find these on Amazon since I've run out of the ones I bought from Target. I never had any issues with these over the years that I'd been buying them until the last batch I bought from Target that they had on clearance-- I bought four pairs, and two were DOA (only recently discovered). So, I checked all the ones I bought from Amazon when they arrived, and all of them worked fine. But, after that last Target experience, I'd recommend checking all pairs, right away, if you buy multiple.The packaging of the Amazon ones is also much nicer to deal with than the sealed plastic tubes the ones at Target came in-- the Amazon ones are shipped in a small, easy to open, box made of cardstock. The price on Amazon is also better than what Target used to sell them for.

If you are an audiophile, these are not for you. If you want noise cancelling headphones, these are not it. But if you want a comfortable pair of earbuds that will allow you to listen to music at work while remaining aware of your surroundings, then I would try these.I have small ears and cannot stand having anything shoved into my ear canal. Over-the-ear, noise cancelling headphones make my ear drums hurt for no discernable reason so my options for ear buds are pretty limited these days but I have been using this type for years. They are inexpensive and hold up to the abuse I put them through. I have never timed how long it takes me to wear them out but it is usually 9 months to a year...which is pretty good bang for your buck IMHO.

Honestly, these are the only earbuds I buy now (unless I have no other choice). Very comfortable for me (I sometimes forget I have them in), good sound quality, not muffled or tinny like other earbuds I've tried. They do fall out of my ears on occasion but that's a minor inconvenience. The set does come with two mini foam covers that you slip onto each earbud that might prevent them falling out of your ears, but the covers themselves don't stay on all that well, so I just use them without it. Compact, not bulky, so if you're someone who likes to listen to music while falling asleep, or watch movies in bed, like me, these are comfortable enough to lay on your side and not have to deal with horrible ear pain.

I used to have these exact same headphones, except they were blue! These are great headphones for a sweaty workout. I am a runner and a fitness freak. Whenever I worked out, the buds never fell out of my ears and they stayed in place.Somehow, my blue headphones got misplaced either I threw them away by accident, they were stolen or I must have dropped it by accident somewhere. So I re-ordered new ones, and I am glad they have green ones, too. Green is my favorite color so yep! For anyone who is looking to buy headphones for a workout session to listen to your music as your run, buy these. They have a good cord length and like I said, stay in your ears.The ones I have now, "Gummy" Sony black ones. The ear buds always fall out of my ears. As I am running, I have to reach out to the ear bud, as it falling out of my ears, and put it back in there. The cord length to my current ones are very short and they bother me because I like to run the cord underneath my shirt so it's a problem for me. I would not recommend the "Gummy" Sony earphones. Just these!However, the sound quality for both headphones are excellent! I can't wait to get my green ones in the mail. I brought the blue ones at a K-Mart and they lasted me for two years!!

I subscribe to a wide variety of daily and weekly podcasts and I am constantly walking around with earbuds on. I'm sure that listening to podcasts constantly instead of loud music is better for my eardrums but it is murder on the earbuds. I have probably bought more earbuds in the last five years than five people buy in a lifetime. Since I have an Apple Nano and an iPod Touch, I was buying Apple OEM and replacement earbuds. I would buy twelve or fifteen at a time. The problem was that the earbuds might last only a week before either one side or both stopped working.I bought a pair of these Sony earbuds a few days before Thanksgiving at a local discount store. It is now the end of January and the earbuds are still working like the day they came out of the store. And yes, they have been put through the wringer.The sound is better than the cheaper Chinese Apple replacements, but what really seems to set these earbuds apart is the way they are constructed. The wire connections to the earbuds and the plug seem much stronger and more durable than the Apple design.I would definitely recommend this product.

Love the design and quality - bought them many times

I was so very disappointed to have to return these earbuds. I have ordered the EXACT same model number twice before and get at least one year use. The old one lasted because the cord was much thicker and more durable. I LOVED the old one....great sound and comfortable in ear and didn't fall out. I have returned so many other brands because the earbud won't stay in. PLEASE PLEASE SONY make the old one again with thicker cord. Read complaints and reviews. There are many of us who hate the super thin easy to break cord.
