Yes, it's a lot of money for a trash can, but we've bought this exact one twice now and we'd do it again. The build quality is great and it's held up well. Our only reason for repurchasing was a very avoidable household incident (our son slammed the lid in frustration on trash day and cracked it, not the can's fault). If you take care of it, this thing will last. Love the brand.

Best trash/recycle bin ever. Fits conveniently against the end of my kitchen island out of the way, but easy to use. Holds lots of trash and good amount of recycling if not too large. I bought one for my vacation house too.

The stainless steel is a lifesaver. it somehow resists fingerprints, so it stays looking brand new even with my kids constantly poking at it. I’m also obsessed with the little hidden pocket for the liner bags. The foot pedal is super sturdy and just feels built to last forever. It frees up my hands when I’m chopping veggies or dealing with sticky messes, and the design fits perfectly in my kitchen.

Having one container for garbage and recycling is so much better, and so worth the money. It’s sturdy and attractive. It’s pretty big, but doesn’t take up any more space than the 2 separate containers that it replaces. The recycling container comes out easily, as do the garbage bags. The lid won’t stay open without having your foot on the pedal, unless you open the entire top. That’s my only criticism, but it’s not a game changer.

Good quality. Size just right considering dual compartments. Only thing, I meant to order sensor model but this is still okay.

PROS • It looks nice • For an additional fee. You can buy a small but matching compost attachment bin. Nice thing about the small compost bin is if your to lazy to dump it before bed you can store it in your fridge so it doesn’t stink up the house. CONS •We are a family of 5 and it’s kinda small. Needs to be bigger. /we also drink a lot of bottled items like Gatorade, water, and beer. • you can use normal trash bags you buy at the grocery store but they tend to slip off and they of course don’t have a clip or bar to clip the bag in place to prevent it from falling down. It has one but doesn’t really work depending on the bags. Force flex seem to work a bit better. However with my city we have to use town trash bags for the dump. So not practical. •simple human trash bags are expensive even the knock off version from Amazon. • I really hate that both sides don’t come with a section you can pull out. Only the recycling side comes with this. So if the trash is leaking it doesn’t spill out everywhere. • Trash can is expensive. • Wish it had a child lock feature like my other simple human trash can • You can buy the additional insert on simple human website but also be prepared to pay for shipping. • only wash the outside of this trash can with stainless steal cleaner as some other chemicals will cause the stainless steal to change colors. ⭐️I’ll add pictures eventually.

It's good looking and fits perfectly in my kitchen. Make so much sense to have recyclables and garbage in one place. It dents easily though. The only negative

Absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous , good looking and easy to use with the step opener. A solid brand and good customer service. Lid stays open when required. 58 litre is perfect size which fits under the height of the counter. Highly recommend this item.

This thing is legit. Absolute powerhouse and it will stand the test of time, I'm sure.

I really like this combo garbage can/recycler and wish there was a double recycler plus garbage option! The proprietary garbage can liners are a bit annoying but not necessary either.

I've had good previous experience with SimpleHuman products hich is why I decided to pay more for this item but this garbage can was a total let down and, frankly, a total waste of money. The lid is held on by two tiny plastic pieces, not reinforced in any way, and the lid just broke right off without us doing anything to it. This happened within a couple months of fairly light use. Outside of the return window, of course. So disappointed. Will not buy SimpleHuman again.

Ordered “New”. Product arrived broken. Lid and pedal were heavily damaged. Product had clearly been previously used with food and trash bag remnants in the box. Very disappointing.
