Question 1

I have a greyhound(small head ..what size do I get? He weighs about 70 lbs but with his thin head, what size and will they help with thunder storms

Accepted Answer

can't say about the size but I found that they only lessened the noise but definitely did not block the noise - maybe try a thunder shirt.

Question 2

I have 68# female Weimaraner. What size do I need?

Accepted Answer

Just like shoes fitting comfortably for us humans, these Mutt Muffs are comparable. I decided that the "Large" size muff fits my 54 pound Lab/Golden Cross. I did try the medium size, but I preferred that the muff encase my dog's entire ear flap. By adjusting the velcro fasteners on top as well as the velcro fastener under her chin, the muffs seem to fit comfortably. I definitely put the muffs on BEFORE the loud noise (such as my church's pipe organ!) begins. Contrary to Zorah Oppenheimer's experience, these muffs do work--I issue voice commands to my dog (who is a highly trained and very responsive service dog ) while she has the muffs on, and she does not hear me. Anyway, my guess for your dog would be the "Large" muffs. Hope this is helpful. Good luck.

Question 3

Will these work on a Corgi who has large open pointed ears? Do the ears stay up for this if they are a Corgi?

Accepted Answer

They fit my German Shepherd's ears very well. You will have to work with your dog so he/she won't shake his head and flip them off. It takes a time or two before the dog is completely comfortable with the mutt muffs, after that they are more than willing to wear them.

Question 4

Does anyone think this would work on a cat? My cat has real trouble with engine sounds.

Accepted Answer

They fit catshttp://www.safeandsoundpets.com/albums/album_image/2449012/1588138.htmhttp://www.safeandsoundpets.com/albums/album_image/2449012/4738531.htm Cats have the same sensitive hearing as dogs, and their head shape is similar as well, making Mutt Muffs a welcome piece of safety gear in very loud environments.
