My router has been on the windowsill for years, I was afraid to get a longer cable as I thought it would affect the reception, which was poor enough anyway.I have a very small bandwidth because I'm the very last house on the grid, in a field in the middle of nowhere and my walls are 3' thick.I had to get BT out as I had a problem with the router not working properly. He told me that a longer cable would not affect the reception and it would be better to put the router on a shelf further in the room.I've done this and (keeping my fingers crossed), I've had no drop in reception yet.

The telephone socket and power socket are on opposite sides of the room, quite far apart, and I needed a longer cable to connect my WiFi router properly. This cable turned out to be a perfect solution! Honestly, I have no idea - I didn’t run any scientific speed tests to compare it to the short cable that came with my router. What I can say is that it works reliably. My internet connection is stable, and the WiFi signal is stronger now that I’ve positioned the router in a more central spot. That’s what matters most to me.One of the best perks is how it’s helped me tidy up my setup. Sky told me changing the cable between the phone socket and router would make no difference. My ethernet connections were fine but my wifi kept dropping out in the bedrooms and the signal was nearly a third of what it should have been. I took readings in my bedroom using my phone app where the signal was poor to confirm that this was the case before changing over to the new cable. My guess was that the standard ADSL cable was not well shielded so was picking up interference and causing momentary drop outs on the wifi. The new cable is thicker although it doesn't feel heavy duty, hence 4 stars. But the results were immediate and great! See screen shot for before and after results.

Engineer came out to check my internet and recommended to stop using this wire and get a better quality wire instead and showed me that its losing me at least 3Mbps, so I don't understand all these reviews saying its improving speeds as it clearly isn't. Naturally the longer the wire the more loss but to be told its poor quality as well for almost £10 is ridiculous.

Increased my ADSL speed compared to previous cable. Good quality cable.

cable qui présente bien. J'ai remplacé mon cable "orange" bas de gamme par ce cable en espérant gagner un peu de débit. Au DTI j'ai 6,8Mb/s puis à ma RJ45 connectée par un cable cat 5 d'environ 10m au DTI (perte en ligne de 0,9 Mb ... et encore j'ai refait les connexions sinon j'étais à 2Mb), je suis resté à 5,9Mb en reception et 0,8 en emission. Donc 0 changement. Pourtant j'espérais gagner un tout petit peu, puisque la perte majeure est sur mon installation faite par un pro, parait-il ... Pas vraiment utile donc

Très honnêtement j'étais à 2'2mb et en branchant le câble je suis passé à 1,8mbDonc c'est pas ce qui est annoncé donc mensonge, je me recherche un vrai rj11 haut débit et je regrette mon achat.
